The 2″ replacement irons (3) sharpened quickly and fit both my vintage (read Ebay) Union, Millers Falls and Stanley Smoother & Jack planes. Now in weekend use with no complaints.

Fits my Stanley no 5 type 11 and takes a sharp edge. Not used enough to determine edge durability.

VERY WELL WORTH ITI ordered two blades, one for my No.4 and one for my No.5. The irons were delivered to the store about 3 weeks ahead of original delivery date, a big plus right there. They were both ground dead flat on the back and all that was needed was to go through the grits to remove the grinder marks and put on a nice mirror polish. The bevel side was ground square to the sides and I went through the grits again to remove the the grinder marks, polish and added a 30 degree secondary and honed the corners off slightly.

I don’t know much about planes yet which is why I went with a cheaper one. But after puttin’ a little time into the blade on a sharpening stone to flatten the back and sharpen the bevel, it cuts pretty well. Could probably be better but I’m still learnin’ so it’s whatevsy. Overall pretty satisfied with this tool, though I’ll definitely upgrade to a better one at some point.

Good replacement blade for #4 Stanley Planes. These are packaged marked on the steel by Stanley. Like all cheaper replacement blades, they do require a little flattening on the back and honing before they will produce repeatable shavings. I have several that I keep ready to go as spares.

This is a direct replacement plane iron usually #3 or #4 Stanley plane you should always put a very fine edge on them before using. If you don’t use your plane every day its perfect for part time users. Had this one for months and its holding up just fine

The plane iron was just what I expected. The steel looks fine, but I haven’t tested it with a lot of hard work. It seems about the same as some older Stanley plane irons that I already own. It was reasonably flat and it took a final bevel and microbevel just fine. No complaints here.

It’s an exact replacement for the original iron—fits right in a #4 or #5, and the metal seems to behave the same. All I could ask.
