I liked the overall quality of these. It says they were made or assembled in England from parts made abroad. The case is not the best but it is better than nothing. It has a nice rubber grip handle. For the money I think it is a good buy!

Very nice set but the the largest of the chisels had a little bit of coating coming off but no chipping . Maybe from when the ups guy dropped them . Case is cheap the part that latches came right off when opening them .

This is my second Stanley Chisel set. This set is better than the last set but the carrying case on the old set is much better than the new set. I just don’t understand why they made such a high quality chisel set but cheeped out on the carrying case. I would recommend the chisels but expect a crummy case.

Nice chisel set and were very sharp upon arrival.

Working sharp out of the box, well balanced in the hand, and good looking chisels

Great chisels with a through tang (the shaft goes through the handle so it can be hammered). They came fully sharpened, just needed a touch of honing to remove small burrs. Only thing that could be considered average about this set is the case (which I didn’t use).

Nice enough, has a good feel. Some serious grind issues on 3 of them, but fixable. You can work with them. The case is junk, but you’re not buying this set for the case.

I’ve had these for about 3 months now and they’re great! They fit my hand ergonomically well. Chisel through wood like butter. Accidentally dropped a couple and they stayed in intact no damage to the handle or blade.

I bought a full set of #60 chisels 50 years ago for my Dad, he still uses them today. I bought a full set of The Fat Max chisels because of the thru-tang construction. This is a very durable chisel, will out last me. Maybe something my grandson will inherit.

They work great and meet all expectations. Came with a workable edge but could be sharper, seems to haves thin clear coat of paint on the steel. Although three stars because the shipping company lost my package and brought it to me late after a week of investigating the discrepancy.

these are quality at a fair price.

Very pleased with chisels..they were a graduation gift. They came very sharp and ready to use. The storage case is great for keeping them frm getting beat up in tool box.

I actually have not used the chisels yet but have fully inspected and loaded them into my leather roll for storage. There was some confusion about the length of the shank, but these are shorter than some chisel sets. I have previously used the Stanley FatMax Demolition screwdrivers with the same handle and striker construction, this construction worked so well for me that I wanted the chisel set as well. So to be clear, for me the handle and striker configuration and construction is the best feature. (Unfortunately Stanley no longer makes and sells the screwdrivers.)Worst feature: The case it comes in is pure junk, in fact its not even protective for the shipping or retail display of the set, I have a leather roll with slots to hold and protect the chisels.

As with all chisels it was necessary to hone them to a craftsman edge but they are a great start to a perfect finish. The Thru-Tang is very important for precise work.

would have been 5 stars if they didn’t have nicks in the working edge right out of the package. Very tough.

This may just be the finest set of chisels one can buy for this price. The steel is of a higher quality than typical hardware store construction chisels: better sharpened out of the box and likely to hold an edge longer. The handles are form-fitted to the human hand and more comfortable than typical round handles. The through-tang promises longer life for those of us who carry a steel hammer. The inclusion of a 1.5″ chisel in the set is pretty rare, as most sets stop at 1″ or 1.25″. I also bought the 2″ chisel from this series, sold separately, which gives me a 7-chisel set for a total price of about $70. Great set for a surprisingly low price and much lower than the prices offered by other on-line retailers who then charge extra for shipping.

The Chisels are very good quality. I bought it for someone else and he was really happy with it and was looking forward to using it. He was surprised the box came with so many chisels for such a fair price.

This product met my expectations, robust and sharp. Used them immediately to help with the installation of a couple of exterior doors.
