The Stanley FatMax saw is the perfect tool to use to cut moldings and other home projects that required a nice fine cut finish. Its a size 14″ and has the adequate weight to have the job done easy without having to feel exhausted. The rubber handle quality is comfortable and the saw blade teeth is very sharp for quick jobs. I use it in all my projects because it simplifies my work, and gives me professional results. I totally recommended, it’s a great quality tool designed to give fascinating fine cuttings.

This is great tenon saw or back saw. Has nice thick rib keeps blade stiff.. The set of teeth are correct small enough for making cross cuts in wood with ease…cuts wood like cutting soft butter. Handle seams small but I use 1 finger on side handle for better control. Well made saw…I like Wood handles on saws but just have to get use to modern plastic…

The 14in FATMAX Back saw is sturdy with a nice heavy blade + steel back rib. It cuts super fast and straight. The teeth are small enough to get a cut started easily, but sharp and large enough to really cut with minimal effort and maximum speed. The handle is shaped nice and fits well in hand. It’s got a finger rest which helps with control. It’s also screwed to the plate with 2 hex screws so it’s quite secure and can be tightened over time. All around great saw and super pleased with it’s cut quality!

After cutting several tennon cheeks and boards to length this saw definitely does the general job of a back saw. It leaves a decent finish and cuts straight. The handle isn’t the most comfortable in the hand but unless you were cutting a lot of pieces I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

I was very impressed with this saw! I am always worried when a saw is shipped through the mail if it will arrive straight and useable. It was packaged well and straight out the box. The saw handle is large enough to handle big hands, and designed well for all users to maintain a great grip. The finger rest is on both sides for right or left-handed users, something I do not see a lot. I really appreciate the angle of the handle, it makes cutting at many angles easy and comfortable. the 3 and a quarter inches of the blade from teeth to the spine makes it very versatile and allows me to use it on whatever project I throw at it!

I used this saw to cut a piece of scrap pressure treated fir for repairing deck stairs. The teeth felt sharp to the touch on my hand, but the cutting action took longer than usual with a brand new blade. I’m hoping that maybe at least the teeth will stay this sharp much longer than saw blade teeth normally do. That would at least be a decent trade-off.

I’d had my FatMax Backsaw for quite a while. I loved the tight, solid construction. Through many drops and throws, it held up great. No warp, no unwanted flexing and reliable, quick cutting. Didn’t realize I was taking it’s quality for granted until someone relieved me of it from the back of my truck. Odd that it was the only thing taken. My next tool shopping trip will be (slightly) quicker, though. I don’t have to debate, another FatMax for sure.

I got this saw and wasn’t expecting a whole lot but I’m actually extremely please with it. The teeth are very durable and cut thru plastic like butter. They also leave a great finish. The saw has a nice weight to it and give it a feeling of quality! Definitely recommend this saw!

This saw is light weight , comfortable to hold when cutting. I enjoyed using this saw on the project at hand. There was no flex in the blade, making the mitered cuts on the wood we were using, clean and straight. The miters fit nicely together. Made the job quick and easy. After about 100 cuts the blade was just as sharp when I started.

I just used this to cut up some firewood and try it out. The handle on this saw is very comfortable—fits snugly in your grip with no slippage. The blade on it is much more firm than I anticipated, no bending whatsoever. This, along with the teeth, created an extremely smooth finish that I wasn’t really needing to break up firewood, but will be much appreciated in actual future projects. Would give this 4.5/5 just because 14 inches felt a bit short, but a great little saw to carry around with you.

I got this backsaw to use with my miter box to cut some boards for frames and shadow boxes. The blade left a very clean cut and stayed sharp throughout the entire process. This is a high quality product, especially for the price. This saw could also be used to cut tenons and dovetails, which is what I’ll use it for on my next project.

I’ve used this product on several woodworking projects and what stood out the most was the ease of use. The handle has a nice rubber grip making it easy to hold. Also the blade is very rigid which is good because it doesn’t warp when cutting large pieces of wood. It also leaves a very clean cut, making it an overall great product.
