This is a beautiful straight saw and perfect member of any carpenter’s or wood worker’s box. It has sharp fine teeth and is absolutely straight to make nice clean cuts. I use mine with a miter box. I was able to cut across a standard 2×4 as well as my 40 tooth finish blade in my miter saw with very minimum break out. If I flipped the wood there would have been none. The saw didn’t do well with heavy duty PKII 2” PVC pipe. It got stuck several times and ended up cracking the pipe, so I will stick with wood or moldings. Handle is secure and comfortable to use.

Great saw, love the rigidity that the top brace adds. Cuts clean and fast. Could definitely use it for high end finish work but might not be the best saw for super detailed dove tails. But as a whole its a great all around saw!

On the job or in my shop it feels comfortable in my hand and is just the right size for moldings and most finish functions. Cuts great and looks good. Love it

Stanley FatMax 14 inch saw was an excellent purchase. I purchased it with a miter box to cut molding at a 45 degree angle, and it worked beautifully. Saw teeth were perfect for cutting delicate molding, without splintering or leaving rough edges. Saw worked well with the miter box as a guide.

First impression this saw looks like what doctors would use to take someones limbs in old times. Wow. It cuts smoothly. I always forget to grab a hand saw for cutting little work pieces. I use my multi oscillating tool but a hand saw gives you great control.

This has to be one of the best saws I’ve used. Used it to build something for my kids, and I love the way it cut. So thanks Stanley for putting out another great product.

The rubber handle allows for a good grip, little to no slippage. Helps you maintain control over the cut. The blade is sturdy with little flex so you can make precise cuts. Lightweight and ergonomic. Will be a nice addition to the tool collection. Sharp blade that can tackle a wide variety of wood, plastic, and other materials.

Not only is this little guy the perfect size, it is extremely durable. It doesn’t wobble when you push and pull, which seems to be an issue with most in this class. Regardless, it has helped with those specific cuts I have been dreading on my Schluter edges…

Excellent Tenon Saw I always prefer Stanley tools when they are affordable always good quality. This saw is nice and sharp and cuts perfectly, okay it has hardened teeth so I guess it cannot be sharpened but for the cost it should be regarded as a throw away product once it looses its edge. I would not fancy sharpening this saw anyway with the amount of small teeth it has. Would recomend this saw to anyone who needs a Tenon Saw.

I’ve been redoing my molding in my living room because I wanted a fresh look and the FatMax Back Saw has made it so much easier because it gives me precise cutting , after I was finished my friends came over an ask me who I hired to do my work I was so proud they just couldn’t believe that I had done it all myself so if you need to do any cutting of fine finish plywood and hardwood I would definitely recommend that you do it with the FatMax Back Saw because it makes it look professionally done.

Perfect for use with a miter box. I’ve used this saw more than my powered miter saw. Makes perfect cuts.

We have had several back saws in our senior center workshop, but this one is the best. It’s teeth stay sharp when used for various senior wood working projects. It cuts straight due to its rigid backbone. This is a great add to our Senior Cooperative workshop.

Picked this up for some general all around hand sawing. I have used in on green and dry wood and it has worked nicely. There is some tear out on the dry wood but otherwise cuts cleanly. I really like the weight and feel of the saw. It is heavy enough to cut with out pressing on the saw and also has a comfortable grip.

Worked exceptionally well with miter box.
