Even though it is a engineering tape measure it can be used for so much more. I have been using it to build a dresser and with the precision measurement it helps with making sure the drawers are squares. If you looking for a tape measure to keep with you all the time this is the one for you.

I have had this about a month and like it quite a bit. It is small enough for a pocket but heavy enough to find. I got the the Engineer’s scale where there are inches to 32nds and inches in tenths. I do not really have a use for inches in tenths but I am not an engineer. Otherwise it is just right.

This is a very nice little tape that comes in handy to carry around at all times. What I do is remove the belt clip, and simply carry in my pocket.

This is the perfect pocket tool to keep with you full time. The first 6l of the tape has both 32nds and 50ths of an inch, which is as accurate as 99% of us will ever need. The blade will stand off to almost 36 inches, and the lock remains positive until releases. On an aside, if you wear pants with a coin/watch pocket, this tape fits in with the clip keeping it secure.

This is a highly useful little tape measure. The 12′ length makes it light and handy for most small jobs. It is easy to carry around and store in your coat pocket or clip it on to your belt. The engineer scale is a great feature that reads the measurement in tenths of an inch as well as the usual 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 scale. The tape measure has a strong recoil spring and features a sturdy metal case. To be a small size tape measure it also has a strong tape that reach out to about 4′ before breaking over.

The 12′ power lock was a sturdy tape measure for its size. I like the fact that being small it is lighter and smaller while still having the durability of the larger models. I am always buying more tape measures because I leave them around having a smaller one I will hopefully be better at carrying it with me.Lock worked well once you get past 50 inches it is not wide enough to support itself without help but for the size it is I would expect that. Good product

I like that the tape has both Standard and Engineers scales on the same tape and that the appropriate measurements ( fractions and decimal marking are included on the tape . Tape seems to be of a good quality steel .

StanleyPowerLockEngineer’s Scale12’Model 33-272This Engineer’s Scale tape measure means it can be used for rough measure of wood when selecting for a project all the way through to precision measuring when making joints, dimensioning lumber, or marking for mortis and tenons. One tape rule to have handy clipped to my pocket and ready to give me the level of accuracy for any piece that is being made. When cutting dovetails, having the scale down to 32nds means no excuse for sloppy dovetails!Engineer’s Scale using decimals is useful to find center and make quick calcs when dimensioning special wood for a furniture piece.I am able to use this tape in place of a 25 foot Stanley, a 6 inch ruler and an old 24 inch folding rule, so having one rule for everything suits me fine!

I needed a small tape measure to carry when a larger tape is too much. The Stanley PowerLock 12’ Engineer’s Scale is the every day carry answer. This tape is great for checking machine setups. The PowerLock gives you easy one hand use. Easy to read makes quick work out of checking bearing and shaft dimensions. Great for use in fabrication and quality control checks. Small, lightweight, pocket size and built with quality. This tape measure gets used daily in an industrial maintenance setting and hasn’t let me down. Highly recommend this, especially because everyone keeps trying to borrow mine!

Received this a month ago and use almost daily in the shop. This model has an engineers scale which I have little use for. Can only read inch measurements on one side of tape. This model may be more useful for an engineer or someone who works all the time in 10ths..

I have for years only bought Stanley tape measures and I have six or seven of various lengths. Like all the others this one is well built and will be used by me whenever I go shopping in one of the big box stores to check the sizes of materials I am buying, for example, is this bolt really 4″ or is it 4 1/4″?

Typical Stanley quality – this thing can take a beating and measure accurately.
