I’ve used this tape measure around the house for small projects. Also has worked great for measuring the height of our growing boys!

I picked up this tape measure as a small tape to have around the shop. It’s an Engineer’s scale, which can be useful if you need to scale in tenths, but also includes the standard sixteenths and fractional markings. It is not marked in feet, just inches, and is also not marked with stud cues, which is nice. The first six inches of the tape include 32nds and 50ths of an inch, after which it goes to standard 16ths and tenths. The case itself is an even two inches deep at the tape, making inside measurement a snap. I knew that if the new Powerlock tapes were built the same as the old ones, the locking mechanism would be reliable, which it is. All in all, a tape worth owning.

I really enjoyed using this product and its a great little tape measure to keep in your pocket or glovebox. I was surprised to see that you can extend it up to 40 inches before the tension broke. Overall, I recommend this little tape measure.

I thought it wasn’t to big or to small but after using it it felt like it wasn’t quality made, numbers to small on the tape itself

This is the perfect size for small projects and confined spaces. I compared it to my fathers 50 year version and was happy to see that it was just as well made. I found it quite useful measure pipes in a suspended ceiling that I was going to replace. It would be a great tool for woodworkers to keep in their aprons as well. This particular one would be especially useful for engineers as it had the engineers scale on one side- inches and feet on the other.

I use quite a few different sized tape measures depending on what I am doing and where. In my home shop, this size tape is the most convenient to work with. ive had it about a month and it works well. The locking slider gets a bit wonky after a while however, I do not use that feature extensively in my particular application therefor, I do not consider it to be a detriment

THIS 12 ft Powerlock® Tape Measure is very useful with two scales on it: one with fractions on it, two the other scale is the engineering scale in decimal very useful for converting back and forth between fractions and decimal. for example, if you are building tools (like I am) and you need to get a drill that will be a perfect match with an insert in your project the decimal might be very helpful.Overall the product is a very convenient size for the front pants pocket pr just use the clip to hang it conveniently.i AM VERY PLEASED WITH IT AND FIND IT TO BE A KEEPER!

i got this a month ago and it is a little beast solid metal smooth operation but one complaint, the tape sticks out a few inches and the locking mechanism is a little stiff but other than that one of the better tapes i have

Super lightweight and functional. Smooth operation. Sturdy enough for use with hard materials and light enough for fabrics and other lightweight materials. As an avid crafter, my Stanley measuring tape is always within reach.

The engineers scale on this wound up being more useful than expected. Having the 10th’s of an inch worked well for use around some of my machines since they run in that number base. Saved a lot of conversion.

The power lock engineers scale was a pleasant surprise on the tape. As I do machinist work, the scale is very useful for layout work. I would recommend this tape to anyone wanting more precise measurements.

The 12′ Powerlock tape is the perfect size to always have on hand. I keep one in my laptop case, one in my car, and always have one in my work vest. Even though it is smaller in size than your regular worksite tape measure, it is just as robust. I love this version with the Engineer’s Scale, as I use it at work all the time while doing spot quality control checks. Unless you need a longer measure or something more sturdy for the worksite, this is the ideal size to always have on hand.

Have used 12′ Power Lock for a couple of weeks. Great size to carry in your pocket as you move from project to project. Thought it might be a little flimsy, but, as it turns out it holds up pretty well. I like the fact that it has engineer scale on one side of tape. My wife wants one for her purse.
