Received this a month ago and use almost daily in the shop. This model has an engineers scale which I have little use for. Can only read inch measurements on one side of tape. This model may be more useful for an engineer or someone who works all the time in 10ths..

I’ve tried out this 12 foot tape and really like it. It has a metal case so it feels hefty even though it’s smaller than the carpenter tapes and less bulky for that matter. The scale reads without stud breaks. This is much more in keeping with the measurements that I make while conduction my woodworking projects. This includes breaking down rough sawn pieces ( I rarely cut up anything longer than 12 feet) and smaller parts that require accurate measurement. It is an excellent addition to my everyday tool apron carry!

So i received this and the tape was a little stiff and it had some trouble moving but a little wd-40 fixed it and the blade sticks out like an inch or two but other than that its awesome

I love Stanley tales because of their accuracy. It fits well in my hand and has become an extension of my hand. Not needing to think about using it. That being said this particular tape is very hard for me to read. The print on the 12’ tale is too small fir me at 52 years old. I find the same accuracy on the 16’ tapes and they are much easier to read. For this reason I can only give 4 stars.

Received for product review. The markings are easy to read, but the 1/50th marks are a little hard for these old eyes. The fractional marks are a good teaching point for kids learning fractions. My third grade grandson is better able to understand fractions from this.

This is a great tape for around the shop. It’s small enough to slip right into a pocket and have at hand plus the metal case gives a solid feel in my hand. Around the shop or my house, I find a small tape to be very handy as I work and just the right size for most small jobs.I find that all of the Stanley tapes have blades that are thick enough to last for years and I have some that I’ve used for decades.

I accepted the product for a trial test and was not disappointed. Like the past Stanley purchases I have made, the 12 foot Powerlock is a tough and durable product. I tested this under several projects and accidentally dropped it from ten feet up and it held up great. The tape is easy to read and slides smoothly back into place. The lock mechanism works easy. My seven year old grandson loved using this as it fit well in his hands and worked so smoothly. I am planning on buying one for him. The only possible drawback I could see is for someone with large hands was a little harder to maneuver but overall, I highly recommend this product!

I like that the tape has both Standard and Engineers scales on the same tape and that the appropriate measurements ( fractions and decimal marking are included on the tape . Tape seems to be of a good quality steel .

I have used this tape for 2 days building picnic tables and it’s not a bad tape but it does have a few problems like it needs to have a none slip areas where as I have dropped it several times since it is smaller in width then it is harder for us who are older with bifocals to read but the plus is that it’s sturdy, accurate and i did not get the dreaded tape won’t extend or retract after dropping it on the corners but over all it’s a good product
