When I first received this hammer, I didn’t think I would like it because of it being about 8 ounce heavier than my usual hammer. However, this has turned out to be a really great hammer. This hammer is very durable and has great features. I love that it has a milled face, magnetic nail starter, great grip, and most of all, how well balanced it is. All you could ask for in a framing hammer. I highly recommend!

“WARNING, This Is NOT a TOY”. This does GREAT as a Framing Hammer, but the REAL VALUE is HOW you can RIP-UP materials. When used right, this is the perfect TOOL for Take Down of the OLD and PUT-UP of the NEW. Took down an old shed and replaced it with a new one, the old wood never stood a chance against this 28oz FATMAX and there was no FATIGUED from using it, a one hammer wrecking crew.

I got this hammer and never put it down since getting it. This hammer feels amazing with each hit. I haven’t even looked at my other hammers since getting this one. I don’t think anything feels so nice in the hand while striking with it. I feel nothing in my hand when I use it to hit. The handle is comfortable and the hammer feels very study like it will never break. This hammer will not disappoint if you get it.

This hammer is well balanced, and has a good amount of mass to limit the vibrations. The best feature of this hammer is the nail holder. I work alone a lot and I can put a nail in the holder and get it started with just one hand…so I can use the other to hold boards together. The magnet is strong and provided a good start for the nail. The only place I had difficulty, and might just need some more experience, is toe nailing 2X4s. I often would not get the nail to embed into the 2X4 — it could be my swing angle. I very much enjoyed this hammer and it is now my favorite for framing!

Not all hammers are equal. You need a heavier one for framing but it has to be balanced just right or your arm can get tired swinging it. Also get one with anti vibe so your hand doesn’t hurt by the end of the day. I’m in construction, not an engineer, so I can’t tell you exactly how this hammer is made better than other brands, it just is. I have other, lighter hammers for different work, and this 28oz one swings as easy but hits harder, so I use it now more than the other ones I own. Definitely recommend.

This is a great framing hammer. The grip is very comfortable and the anti-vibe in the shank keep vibrations to a minimum. It’s heavy enough to sink nails quickly and the nail set is very helpful when holding materials at the same time. I’ve had a few of these and they last forever. Great all around hammer. The only complaints I have are the nail set could be designed a little better and it could use a nail puller on the side other than that it’s a good hammer.
