Lightweight easy to hold in tool belt. Solid hammer gets the job done.

This hammer is a bit weighty. Despite the cumbersome feel (or maybe because of it), it really packs a punch! The cutting edge on the back performs flawlessly and with little effort in block or brick cuts. The grip is spot on as well. Even with sweaty hands and repeat striking, I found it easy to keep ahold of my hammer. The solid steel construction of the hammer guarantees a lifetime of service despite the tough jobs ahead of this tool. The weight is a bit of a downfall, but once you get accustomed to swinging this brute, you’re going to love it!

I have had this hammer for about 3 weeks now. Now while I’m not a professional bricklayer I have used the hammer around the house. The ergonomics and Precision of this hammer are unsurpassed. The anti vibe really feels great it does not hurt your hand at all. Stanley tools for the win again!!

As an electrician I don’t do much masonry work but I found this hammer ideal for cutting in boxes in old plaster lath walls. I scribe in the outline of the box and break out the plaster with the hammer. Nice neat and easy.

The hammer out of the box had a slippery texture on the handle. After I used it for a brick, the grip came to life. With or without gloves there is great texture and grip. The 20oz head is perfect for quick and efficient strikes. I am able to quickly and cleanly cut a brick with just a couple good hits.

Well design and balance masonry hammer. I used it on bricks, chipping concrete, digging dirt next to concrete forms…has good rubber grip, wish grip had more aggressive rubber handle as working with cement, dust, dirt the handle sometimes loose your grip being smooth…very good and well made hammer with nice finish…

The weight distribution for the hammer was great. I could have used 2 to 3 more inch on the handle. The way it was made was outstanding.

The hammer is heavy, but handles well. The claw will split bricks and stone and it only takes a little while to get the hang of it. Works good with a brick set and cold chisels too. Would a professional mason use one of these? I don’t know because I am not one. But for the little bit of masonry work I do, it suits me fine.

The water and chemicals in mortar are hard on wood handles. The wooden handles would loosen up and the brick masons would throw the pieces away. Forty years ago on my first job I found a two brick hammer heads. Not having any money I carved new wood handles for them. Several years ago I purchased the Stanley FATMAX Xtreme 51-165 to replace an my old hammer with the leather handle. It was still good, but I thought I would try one of the new Stanley Anti Vibe hammers (51-165). The handle on the anti vibe hammer is so much more comfortable in the hand. I finally saw the light decided to replace my old wooden handled brick hammers with the Stanley FATMAX brick hammer. The forged head and shaft on the brick hammer will last forever. The Anti-Vibe rubber handle feels good in the hand.

I got this hammer around a month ago and it is a fantastic addition to my masonry set. Used it last week to build a brick mailbox and it had little to no vibration and the chisel end cut the brick with ease and consistency. Another must have if you do any masonry work at all

This is by far one of the best masonry/brick hammers I have ever used. I was able to use the back side of hammer to chisel edge of concrete. No matter what i came in contact with the anti vibe techniques absorbed all the shock were as when using other products my hand would absorb all the shock.

I just received this in the mail yesterday, the first thing I did was hit my garage floor, the anti-vibration is great. I next took it to a solid 4 inch block to split it. The hammer held up well with no dings in it. Better than others I have tried.

I’ve had this hammer for approximately 1 1/2 months I recently installed an entire patio of pavers in my backyard utilizing just as hammer for breakage and trimming pavers. It never failed to make a queen even break after scoring pavers for the shape that I wanted. I would hands-down recommend this product to anybody who asked me.
