The hammer is well built and designed. Not sure how much you can improve a hammer. The anti-vibe is amazing. Never worried about that stinging in the hand while using.

The water and chemicals in mortar are hard on wood handles. The wooden handles would loosen up and the brick masons would throw the pieces away. Forty years ago on my first job I found a two brick hammer heads. Not having any money I carved new wood handles for them. Several years ago I purchased the Stanley FATMAX Xtreme 51-165 to replace an my old hammer with the leather handle. It was still good, but I thought I would try one of the new Stanley Anti Vibe hammers (51-165). The handle on the anti vibe hammer is so much more comfortable in the hand. I finally saw the light decided to replace my old wooden handled brick hammers with the Stanley FATMAX brick hammer. The forged head and shaft on the brick hammer will last forever. The Anti-Vibe rubber handle feels good in the hand. This hammer was made in Taiwan.

This is a great masonry hammer. The weight and balance are fantastic, but moreover, the anti-vibe handle is great. It reduces any palm shock and has held up to all of my abuses thus far. I would highly recommend this hammer for all masons!

I have some bricks from a couple of historic buildings that were demolished I need to clean the mortar off of and this is just one of the things this hammer does best. It can be used as a chisel with a second hammer to split brick, stone, or cement block also. It can even be used for geological digs if you’re into unearthing dinosaur bones or the like. The longer you use this, the more you’ll appreciate the Anti-Vibe feature that protects your hand from the vibration of repeatedly striking the hard surfaces. Made of one-piece double forged steel head and handle, the hammer features a tuning fork design that helps reduce harmful vibrations. The ergonomically designed handle has a rubber grip molded directly onto the shaft. The handle also has a specially textured grip for improved performance in wet conditions and an enlarged handle design that helps reduce gripping fatigue. Made in Taiwan. Lifetime warrantied.

I use this when need to resize concrete. Mainly for door’s and windows. I used a cold chisel work just fine and got this to test for a better way and bingo the lack of vibrations are worth the change. Great hammer
