The picture is not a tell all. I was hoping the shank went all the way through the handle and that this could be used as a light duty punch for punching starter holes in sheet metal paneling. The shank is embedded in the handle and if struck on the end I’m guessing the handle would not last long. This is OK for a hand punch or scratch all, but look elsewhere for one that you might want to strike with a hammer. More views would help the prospective buyer to decide.

A very nice useful thing. I have no complain. But, I had wrist pain after using the product. Thank you.

This is a little tool, but for this old lady it comes in handy! If I’m hanging something small, I can start a hole with this awl and a hammer. Don’t have to drag out the drill, find the right size bit, etc. I like that it has the wooden handle. My last one had a plastic handle and pretty much just disintegrated after my recent use.

Great, durable tool. Use this to poke holes in drywall for hanging paintings and shelves…better and cleaner than drilling

During a cross country move, I lost the Stanley scratch awl I had owned for several years, so I wanted another like it. Although the replacement shipped from Home Depot has a brown wooden handle instead of the blue wooden handle on the one I lost, it is still otherwise the same and I have already used it to make pilot holes for screws for a platform bed I purchased.

A very well made tool I’ve had and used a month now which won’t roll away and I use a lot. It fully meets my expectations.

I bought these awls for my basketry students as our local Home Depot no longer carries these. I like the fact that the handle has 2 flat sides, which makes it easier when adjusting a too long rib in an Appalachian rib style basket. The business end is not too scary. has good length and diameter for it’s intended use (basket weaving).
