I found myself always needing a smaller ratchet when id work on my ATVs and lawn equipment. The 1/2 and 3/8in ratchets i have are great for the heavier jobs but not all jobs need a big tool so to add a 1/4 to my box i grabbed one of these an am supper impressed others have stated it unwillingly changes directions but i don’t see how ive used it several times now an its tight an flawless. Works GREAT. As for the guys snapping the 1/4in drive off thats because 1/4 is not for breaking loose heavily torqued down big crap use you 3/8 or better yet your 1/2in drive stuff for that boys and girls

I’ve had this ratchet for a little over a year. It’s held up alright but after about a year of everyday use, I’ve noticed some of the gears–either that or the pall aren’t fully engaging. Now I’ve broken loose lots of bolts that I proabably should have used a breaker bar on. Regardless, it does the job but it isn’t the most durable. Good value for the price though.

Picked up one of these on an emergency when my other rathcet was not with me. It has turned out to be one of my favorite ratchets. It really does have a tight ratchet arch, which is nicer than my old one. With a Lifetime warrenty, I think I will buy more Stanley Products. A++

Good quality, weight, price and size.

It did the job, but the sockets tend to fall off so you have to make sure that they don’t drop where you can’t get at them or see them. The price was low though and it fit the need.

This came as the primary ratchet in my first socket set that I bought from walmart 10 years ago. I have used it quite a bit and even abused it a couple of times. I don’t recommend abusing it. But it’s not broken and given that it’s Stanley, I would get another one. It has a good weight in the hand and holds on to sockets tightly. I would recommend this to people.

My parents moved to another state 14 years ago and gave me a Stanley tool set before they did. I’ve used it to build cribs, repair vehicles as a mechanic for a few years, install training wheels, removing training wheels and pretty much being my families got to for broken items. These tools have never failed, are comfortable and affordable. I strongly recommend them.

The curved handle has no pressure points when force has to be applied to the ratchet so it is comfortable to use. The selector switch is moved in the direction needed, left-side to unbolt and right-side to tighten. All-in-all, a well designed ratchet.

No matter how tough the bolt this ratchet hangs in there and doesn’t break on tight bolts.
