I have been using this item for about 7 days and I love it. It fits perfectly in my hand and is not to heavy. The best part of it is how smooth it is when pulling the tape out and the auto lock is great. Easy to read numbers too.Overall it’s a solid tape measure

I find the 16 ft tape a useful tool for the work I do. This tape fits comfortably in my hand and offers a lanyard connection integral to the case. The blade is stiff and stands up as advertised. The Auto Lock feature is one that I was never a necessity for me but now that i have it and could toggle it on or off, I like it alot. The tool is very solid and includes some mass to it without being a burden. The detachable hook is also a nice feature when I am attempting to measure the depth of a duct or structure up in the air.

This is quite possibly the best tape measure I have ever used. I has large lettering that is easy to read. It has had multiple drops and still looks new. The extra clip that comes with it is great when you do not have a helper. My only issue is the auto lock feature is starting to slip. It has not been a problem yet, but with out another locking system it could be an issue down the road. Even with this SLIGHT problem it is still the best tape measure I have ever used.

I’ve been using this tape measure daily for a few weeks as a Pipe Fitter and it ha s become my favorite by far. I was using the 25ft Fatmax. The feature I like the most is the auto-lock…Makes controlling the tape so much easier. I can almost extend the tape all the out vertically before it bends…Incredibly stout, excellent quality tape measure. Some of my co-workers have purchased them this same tape after seeing this on in action. I’ll be buying more myself!! Good job Stanley!

This is a pretty good tape measure. Nice stand-out for 16′ and the auto-lock feature is quite handy. As a commercial electrician I put my tape measures through a lot and this one is very durable. My only suggestion for improvement would be that it’s to easy to disengage the auto-lock feature when pressing it down to retract the tape.

The 25 footer was my favorite for just about every purpose I can think of–until I broke it. This one is better, however, because it’s lighter and does the same job! I took this one out for a test spin to take some garage measurements, and layout some new lighting and shelving. The diamond markings for the studs were true, and the numbers are easy to read for older eyes like mine. Now, I’m not deliberately rough on my measurement tools, but accidents do happen. I was in my garage on a ladder measuring a span for some shop lights, and unthinkingly set it on the edge of my notepad. And wouldn’t you know it? It fell right onto my cement floor! I climbed down to retrieve it–expecting the worst–but it extended and retracted as if nothing had happened! It didn’t lose any of its tension, and the clip seemed to have taken the impact. This was very nearly the same fall that my 25-footer took, but this one survived without breaking a sweat.If you need a tape measure that can take some weathering, then I can recommend this design wholeheartedly!

I haven’t had the tape too long yet, but I really, really like the auto-lock feature, which works very well. It can also be used w/ manual lock, which ever you prefer. Another feature is the awesome stand-out provided by the wide blade. It seems to be built very well, for a long life. I am extremely happy w/ this 16′ FATMAX auto-lock tape measure.

For the most part this is a great measuring tape. My only complaint is that the hook could be another 1/8” longer. I cut lots of tenons and measuring such parts is a pain when the hook isn’t quite long enough.

Stanley FATMAX 16′ auto-lock blade and the detachable hook is the best tape measure I have ever used! This definitely replaces my old brand immediately!! I didn’t need any help from someone to hold the other end. It locked right in place. I loved that it has big bold numbers for me to see from afar. Recommend this FATMAX to other DIY users.
