Don’t love it don’t hate it. The locking feature is not my favorite. It is not the most robust staying locked. Some uses this would be excellent, others this could be a big problem. Made in the USA is best feature. Buy American.

Let me start out by saying I love fatmax tapemeasures. Have baught probably 10 in my lifetime and use them all day everyday they are the best. This one just missed on the lock. It doesn’t stay locked. I baught a 2 pack both do the same thing after a short period odf use. My co worker also baught one it did the same thing. Go back to reg lock please! Don’t try to fancy it up if it worked awesome before.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband, so it was unwrapped only a week ago. The auto-lock feature seemed to work at first, but now it slowly retracts and there is no way to manually lock it. I think that having a manual-lock option, as backup for the auto-lock, would help improve the usability of this model. As a positive, the casing seems fairly sturdy and the tape is strong. We cannot return it, as my husband not only tossed the packaging already, but he did not notice the extra tab-end attachment piece, so that is gone as well. I am glad I purchased another measuring tape without the auto-lock feature, so all is not lost.
