The FatMax 25 ft. Auto Lock Tape Measure has a blade that automatically locks at the length to which it is extended and includes an oversized detachable framing hook that easily grabs studs. Depressing the button converts the tool to manual mode, enabling it to become a traditional retractable tape. The auto-locking feature allows users to control tape retraction, which helps to prolong blade life and reduces the risk of injury. At 1-1/4 in. W, the tape is easy to read and features an 11 ft. standout to simplify single-person usage. A Blade Armor coating protects the blade from tears, kinks and rips for lasting durability.

I love using these Stanley tape measures. I own several of these. My one complaint which is a super minor one, is how the first 3 numbers on the tape are smaller than the rest of the numbers. For me visually, this bugs the crap out of me. Other than that, works great.

This is my husband’s favorite brand of tape measure. He is a carpenter and is extremely picky! It is a good one apparently. We couldn’t find it in the stores. We looked at several, so I ordered it online. Worth the wait.

Don’t love it don’t hate it. The locking feature is not my favorite. It is not the most robust staying locked. Some uses this would be excellent, others this could be a big problem. Made in the USA is best feature. Buy American.

I have used Stanley FATMAX for about 13 years and they have stood up to most anything i have thrown at them, whether it be falling from 30+ feet, tape bending over and over, mud rolling up in the tape case, skid across the concrete or left out in the weather for a few days. FATMAX is a great tape and i will choose them everytime!
