This tape has a good feel in the hand. The markings are nice and clear and is accurate. I don’t care much for the new belt clip design but it is definitely better than it was where it would tear up your pocket or belt, it does work though. I use a tape measure pouch anyway and took the clip off. The return spring is very strong so much so that you better slow it down with your fingers. Overall this is a good tape measure.

I find the 16 ft tape a useful tool for the work I do. This tape fits comfortably in my hand and offers a lanyard connection integral to the case. The blade is stiff and stands up as advertised. The lock feature is a bit light in thickness. It doesn’t seem like it will last too long. The tool is very solid and includes some mass to it without being a burden. The blade Armor is also a good feature and should be included on all variations.

I really like the wide blade on the tape. The 16th inch markings were clear and easy to read on both sides of the tape. The foot markings with inches on the other side, as well as the 16″ markings for studs with red. The reinforcement on the first several inches was a good idea, as I have had a number of tape measures tear along that area. I liked that it was 16ft vs 25ft — I’ve always purchased the longer ones (25′ and 30′) but rarely use that length, so one is enough for me. Having it be shorter reduced the size of the housing and it fit nicely in my palm. The grip was good as well, the plastic made it easier to hold. The dark end tab was very well attached and easy to see on raw wood. The wide tape enabled it to extend very far without bending. I also think that the tape was a bit thicker than some of my other tape measures. It appeared to be very rugged as well and should stand up to some abuse. The belt clip was very tight, this will loosen with use I’m sure.My only fault is that the locking slide is very stiff. I’m not sure if this is because it is so new but I thought I had locked it a couple times (but had not pushed it down far enough) and it came free. I realized that I needed to add much more pressure to slide the lock. So that is only a minor issue in my mind.

This tape measure feels like a baseball in your hand. It’s not tall and fat but rounded. I highly recommend this tape measure. Just a heads up the clip on the back does not lock tight on thinner clothing or belts.

I usually keep a 12’ Stanley traditional tape measure in the front of my truck and each car. Helps for last minute furniture shopping trips (don’t pretend you’ve never been on one) or other shopping adventures. I used this one for awhile, and while it’s a bit to big to fit in my pocket (needs to be clipped on), it is more than durable to be thrown around. I even found myself keeping it on my belt and using it for a few projects. Great form, great size, all around perfect shorter (smaller) tape measure.

I was sent this tape measure several months back and I really like it. It’s a good size that if you lay it down you won’t lose it.

I found this version very visible and easy to find in my truck tool box. The tape is sturdy and is easier to view in less than optimal conditions it has been subject to moisture and hasn’t rusted yet and the back side has light scratches underneath but nothing too deep. The coatings are better than the older cheaper models.

I have had these through different versions for years. I have one at each big toolIn the shop because they are great. At table saw, band saw, mitre station, planet and jointer then at build bench. Love em.

I’m used to skinny tape measures and yard sticks for measuring . This STANLEY Fatmax takes the place of both and is just nicer to use. I have long fingers, so it’s important that the tape doesn’t hurt me when it retracts. And my fingers are safe with this wide Fatmax, with it’s fast tape retraction. The casing also feels quite slip resistant, which is another important safety feature. The tape lock button is over an inch wide. This thing is heavy-duty all the way around.3 steel rivets hold the steel tape hook to the tape (which is also steel). I don’t think STANLEY cut corners anywhere. I was able to extend the tape in free air about 12.5 feet before it collapsed. There was no permanent damage to the tape from this test. This is simply a tape measure for anyone who is going to use a tape measure. From a home owner doing DIY projects, to a real estate agent, to a construction worker. It’s made in the USA. Lifetime limited warranty.I made a little shelf out of the plastic packaging, since the 4 oval holes actually matched up to the holes on my workshop pegboard.

I used the FatMax for the first time. Large and sturdy with a wide and stiff blade yet easy to unreel and lock, and unlock and rewind. I really like it.

I have been using a 16 foot FatMax for about a month now. They did a little redesign on the case. It feels more like a baseball in your hand. So far some of the things I did not like about previous FatMax tape measures seemed to have disappeared. In the past FatMax tape measures have had a tendency to twist when you’re measuring something below your feet. So far that is not an issue. My other complaint with previous FatMax tape measures have been with the retract mechanism that seems to slow down rather rapidly after a short amount of time. So far I have not had this issue. For the price point it appears to be a quality product but time will tell if this remains true.

This is the most comfortable measure tape that I ever handled. It fits great in my hand, the grips underneath make it easier to grip. The blade extends 13 feet although it needs to be supported by the other hand. One thing I like about this tape is the great grip on the tip, so I do not have to use a nail or ask another person to hold it to measure 10 feet or more. The belt grip is excellent, so I do not fear that it would fall off. The only thing that I would improve is the lock, which requires great effort to push, especially after the tape is 6 feet out.

This is the first tape measure I’ve ever used that was ergonomically correct .It doesn’t fold when extending it far to measure crown molding and such.I highly recommend this product

Nice tape measure. I have the 25 and 16 ft ones. I love the round shape, fits great in your hand. The belt clip is the best design ever. Fits great and doesn’t bother you at all, fits great on a belt or jean pocket. Also they have a lifetime warranty!

Great 16 foot tape. Nice wide bright blade. Good clear markings. Useful standout is a bit over 9 feet. You can get more than 11 feet but there is a pretty good bow. I thought the new pocket/belt clip was weird at first, but after using it I love it. I hope the design becomes the new standard. The shape and size fit comfortably in my hand like a baseball. I dropped it several times, no cracks or breakage. Well done.
