I found the 16 foot Fat Max to be veryIt usefull for large projects in the shop and for estimating and layout work in the field, it is one of the best I have ever used when I have a need to measure by extending. A good compromize between a large tape used for construction and an every day shop tape. Well constructed to last.

This 16’ tape feels like your holding a baseball. It is very compact and made well! The clip is secure and it’s a perfect size and weight if you don’t need to carry around a 25’ or 35’ tape. I highly recommend this tape! The tape itself is a nice gauge and has large visible numbers. Packaging is very secure make sure you read the instructions when removing it and just don’t try and muscle it out!

I am disabled and it is getting harder and harder for me to find tools that are easy for me to use. This 16 ft. FATMAX tape is exceptional for me to handle and use. It is a little heavy but still lighter than most tapes in its class. There is a black grip surface on the top and the bottom that helps me to grip it; I drop this tape much less often. I can extend the tape to cut studs or plywood without it bending on me; this allows me to measure without having someone to help me! The quality of this tape measure is exceptional and I truly believe it is the last tape that I will ever need!

I was sent this bad boy and at first I didn’t know what to think, it has a odd shape from the traditional Fatmax. But once I started using it, the shape of it, just fits very nicely in your hand. It’s a good looking tape lol, it stated a 13′ standout and of course I had to try and yeah you can hit 13′ no problem. I’d say 11-12′ for practical work applications, I managed to get it all the way out to 14′. The extra protective coating goes farther up so your most frequently used measurements will last a lot longer. All around this is probably the best Fatmax I’ve ever owned and will definitely be buying a 25 footer in this style.

Very nice tape, easy to read. Is holding up well to the dirty environment I work in. The only small issue I have is that it’s hard to extend the tape while wearing gloves.

I wasn’t familiar with this model, but I was curious to see how it would stack up against my Stanley Autolock! I used this one as my everyday carry tape for a couple of weeks, and used it for a few different tasks: hanging pegboard, measuring furniture, laying out dimensions for hauling lumber, and measuring the dimensions for a wheelchair ramp. First of all, I have to point out that I was carrying it on my belt, the edge of my pants-pocket, and loosely in a tool bag. Anyone who has done any of these things can expect some damage and tears thanks to the clip. Not so with this model! It’s smooth over-mold allows it to travel comfortably in a pocket, and the generous clip allows it to ride on the rim of your pocket or belt without chafing and scraping. I was able to easily clip-it and forget it while scribbling notes, or rearranging work-pieces. The oh-so-critical sheathing on the lead was butter-smooth, but still locked tight when I was taking small measurements. The sheathing is scratch-resistant, and all of the markings were clear and easy to read, after constantly extending and retracting it. The familiar diamonds were spaced just-right, and it made marking off studs behind the dry wall an easy effort. Between the precision of the placement, and the skills of the crew who built my wall, I was able to mount eight feet of pegboard with confidence.If you only buy one tape measure this year, make it this one!

This is probably the best tape I’ve had yet! The shape fits your hand like a baseball. The screw less clip stays on my belt and comes off easy. The extra blade protection to six inches is one of those how didn’t they think of it sooner. There is only one more feature I wish it had and that would be a magnetic tip. As an industrial mechanic this is my go to tape 16 foot capable and comfortable.

I have used this 16 foot tape measure for the last 2 weeks. I will never be with out it on any job I am working. The tape fits into my hand like it was made for it .The tape stays where you lock it and flexes very little. I can not say enough good things about this tape.
