The ergonomics of this tape measure are great. It fits in your hand comfortably without feeling too bulky. The standout to 13 feet is awesome. The blade will still break down at shorter distances depending on how your holding the tape measure, but overall it still works good. The first one I purchased fell off a eight foot ladder and the internal plastic mechanism that holds the tape in place when locked broke. This meant I could no longer depress the external lever to lock the blade at a specific distance. I was a little disappointed in this because sometimes its necessary to lock the blade at a specific distance when taking measurements and marking on the material. I did like the overall design though, so I purchased a second one. Overall this is a good tape measure, but just be cautious of dropping it because almost the entire product is made of plastic components that aren’t very well protected.

The ergonomic shape fits great in your hand and not to mention it looks great. It has a 12’ stand out, is wide and easy to read and the Maxshield makes this the longest lasting, best feeling tape I’ve ever used. I’ve owned countless number of tape measures over the years and NONE compare to this FATMAX. I will never buy another tape measure other than this one. You could give me another tape measure for free if I lost this one and would still go out of my way to pay for a new FATMAX like this one. Absolutely love it! Had this tape measure for awhile now and it is tested tough. I use it around the house on projects and I like its heft, easy to read numbers and the ability to stretch how the tape without it collapsing. I have an 8 and 9 year old that are hard on my tools but this FatMax can take it!

I bought this a while ago when they first introduced the smaller FATMAX. I love the smaller, more round design. It drops easily into my belt, I don’t have to fumble around trying to put my tape up. Be careful !!!! On a long run this tape zips in, it will get those fingers if your not careful. I learned the hard way. Thanks
