I bought this tape measure for our work around the house. The FatMax is great because alot of areas we need to measure are a bit more than a standard 25 foot tape measure. This thing is great, no more 25 foot marking and measuring from that mark. Keep up the good work Stanley, you are making differences in home diy projects.

I love this tape measure! The numbers are so clear and large enough I can see them with ease (I usually need my glasses to read the numbers on regular tape measures). It extends & retracts smoothly, the blade lock is easy to use, and the fact that it goes over ten feet without the blade bending is great! It seems to be very well made. My last Stanley tape measure lasted over 10 yrs! Would definitely recommend this!

Overall I am satisfied with the performance of the tape. It is pretty compact for a 35 ft tape compared to other brands. The blade is sturdy meaning that it does not have a twisting problem like previous Stanley tapes. The blade has a good and thick coating meaning a longer blade life. one pet peeve I have with tape measures is them not standing on their own. This tape has a round bottom which makes it fall over easily when it is set down. This is one area of improvement that Stanley could make. Overall a nice and long-lasting tape measure standing up to the Stanley name.

This tape rocks! I use it every day. Perfect for longer length boards. Instead of walking to attach tape to end, just exstend tape out. Hook to end of board. Mark measure spot. All good!!!

I’ve always been a big fan of Stanley tape measures! Especially the fat max. And this one here, 35 feet long is absolutely awesome, and it’s built very well, and the fact that it will stretch out 13 feet without bending makes working alone much easier! Absolutely love it, great big fan for life!

This is a perfect tape measure for the homeowner! The tape itself wider than normal tape measures. This makes measuring a long span much easier by your self as the tape does not sag and kink as easily. I recently had to renovate my home’s deck and I used the Fat Max. I found the tapes measurement marking easy to read and I think it will be a very durable tape measure. The belt clip is strong and keeps that tape on your belt while you move. The locking mechanism works perfectly and the retraction of the tape won’t leave you with a missing “digit”! I dropped the tape measure times and it showed no damage!

This tape is very nice. The 13 feet of straight run out is incredibly helpful. For being a 35 foot tape measure it is nicely compact and easy to hold. Numbers are nice and easy to read at angles and in darker conditions.

Like my 25′ FATMAX baseball tape I found that you cannot lock the blade at anything under 8″ (approx). I found this out the hard way on the 25′ and ended up breaking the locking mechanism. I will try to be more aware on this one. My older Fatmax tape could lock at 2″ without problem. Minus one star for fear of breaking it. Minus 1 star for not being able to lock at short distances. I can’t recommend it because it should be more versatile than this like the older Fatmax tapes.

Bought this because my 25 foottape measure wasn’t long enough for some jobs. Now that I have the 35 foot Fatmax that problem is solved. Appears to be made of quality materials for a reasonably long life.

The tape glides smoothly in an out. Does not feel to big in my hand and the 13′ standout is a great feature. I also like the new belt clip, it goes on your belt or pants pocket very easy. Overall a great tape would highly recommend someone buying this tape.

This is a great tape if you need a ridgid long reach tape but I find it a little too heavy for my needs. It’s durable and can even be used as a straight edge because it’s soo ridgid. It clear marking would make it really good for a framing contractor or anyone who might want to mark it as a “story pole.”

This is a huge upgrade from my old power lock. The hook is great and the numbers are easy to read. It retracts almost too good, you really gotta hold on when it retracts fully. The standout is exceptional. I was skeptical of the belt hook because it’s kind of open in the back, but my doubts were put to ease when it never fell off. Overall a great tape it’s my go to for doing estimates.

Up until this point, I was using the Stanley FATMAX 25′ tape measure. My initial reaction, when I held it in my hand was, “Man, this is a heavy duty tape measure!” I was happy to find that the 35′ is not much bigger, and comfortably fit in the same tool pouch as my 25′. The 13′ standout is amazing since I work alone most of the time. I can comfortably measure 8, 10, 12 feet without someone on the other end of the tape. I really like the positive lock – it clicks when it locks, and clicks when it unlocks. No more setting the tape down “locked” just to have it reel back up because the lock didn’t hold. The only negative that I experienced, and the only reason I didn’t give it five stars, is the fact that the sides are smooth and not easy to grip when trying to get the tape out of the tool pouch. If you have it clipped to your belt, it’s not an issue, but when you are trying to reach for it with just your thumb and index finger, it is not easy to grip. Over these past couple of weeks I learned to position it in my pouch with the raised lands at the heal of the tape pointing up – that gives me something to grip. It may sound like a small issue, but I reach for my tape 50-60 times a day.Overall, it is a great, heavy duty, product with a lot of great features. I will continue to use it, and would recommend it to anyone.

This tape combines features that make it ideal for everyone from a hobbyist to a lifetime contractor. It is easy to grip and hold but can withstand a 50′ drop. The 13′ standout and easy blade lock is perfect for one person measurements on long joist and rafter cuts. With the additional blade coating and a lifetime warranty added to “Made in USA” it is a welcome plus to any tool box.

I have had this tape for years. I am a home handy person so it wasn’t like it got a lot of use. My Fat Max wasn’t my go to tape as I have a habbit of losing tapes and saftey glasses. So my go to tape is the harbor freight that I can lose with shrug of my shoulder. It can fail to retract and can end up in the garbage with the same shrug of the shoulders. I don’t think I have had one fail as they get lost long before a problem arises no so much with the fatmax as it is Yellow and big.

I have had this 35’ tape a few weeks now and I am very pleased with it. Very well built and functions great , only downside is it’s weight it a little heavy for my taste. But still a great tape.
