I really enjoy using this tape measure for layout. The balance and design fit my hand well. The added blade armor performs as advertised although I’d like to see how long that lasts.

This tape measure is awesome, especially for a carpet installer. There are times where the rooms are much bigger than the tape measure can accommodate. This makes it so much easier for us to measure jobs and then give estimates.

This tape measure was sent to me by Stanley to try out. Well I used the tape measure to build my screened in porch and while the tape itself is sturdy and tough it does not retract like it is supposed to. Once mine reached over 6 feet it would self wind. Other than that it is a good tape.

My brother got one and has had it for a while. I love using it because you have that extra 10 feet of tape that up don’t have with a 25 ft tape. It’s great and I love it. Definitely one of the best tools I’ve used and definitely recommend it.

I have to said that I’m pretty impresed by the constant quality improvement that Stanley puts in what to me is their FLAGSHIP handtool for years, I have been a huge fan/defender of the FATMAX measuring tapes family, since i came in contact with them 5 years ago in the framing industry. Their solid/bold construction makes it the number 1 in the industry for me, the blade coating is the best in the market right now in my opinion, with the printing CLEAR, EASY TO READ and BIG CHARACTERS; also the almost 7 inches they have on their tape shield, makes it almost impossible to break with simple/normal use, you will literally will need to abuse this tape in order to attempt to brake the shield.Their plastic body is pretty well build, with little but noticeable improvements along different models over the years, I have dropped it from almost 16 ft on second level, and yeah, it suffers some damage but mostly is cosmetical, it is hard to brake this tape unless you drop it from over 20 ft straight to the floor, otherwise you could be very surprised by its durability. The only possible detail that I would suggest for the next model improvement, will be a slightly bigger hook, working in the framing industry you need to be measuring constantly from distances over 8 or 10 ft, and sometimes the hook doesnt grab properly the edges of the lumber. Also, the best feature for me and where Stanley has no match in the market is the EXTENSION DISTANCE OF THE TAPE(I have been able to extend the tape 12 1/2 to attach it to my walls) with a little bit of care but certainly I haven’t been able to do this with ANY OTHER TAPE BRAND so far and that is why I only use FATMAX. So far, I have enjoyed tremendously this product, I can say with all certainty that this is the BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!

The new FatMax tapes are by far the best tapes period. Very smooth operation & the 11′ standout is really nice when working on ladders. I really like the new design, it fits real nice in the hand & to be 35′ it’s not too bulky. The extra blade armour is a great feature to protect your tape from a elements of a construction site. Overall it’s a great tape!!

I have been use this tape for about a year now and it has remained strong. Only draw back is a bit bulky.

We use a lot of different tape measures as a contractor but we find that the FatMax works best for all uses.

Replaced some deck boards and used my Fat Max tape measure. I just love how far it can go out before losing its rigidity. Great tape measure.

Thought it was going to be big and bulky but when it arrived i was surprised. Fits in hand very well, light weight, easy to read and very durable feel. Great tape measure.

What a very nice new tape. The tape itself extends far, the spring return is strong. Easy to read and feels good in the had. The lock mechanism is secure, but I had trouble releasing the lock and often it was a two handed operation. Unless I’m missing something about the way it operates or happened to get a defective one.. Check one out in the store – if the lock works for you it’s a five star product. This would be really nice for framing, but Stanley’s Leverlock remains my favorite.

As soon as I received this tape, I put it to work. I really enjoyed having the ‘extra’ 10 feet. I was able to measure the 32 feet that I needed. I dropped the tape, and it just flopped over, were a previous one broke. The tape itself is very sturdy and did not bend when extended without support.

As a Piping Designer I work in all manner of process plants and refineries. The 16 foot stand out is perfect for those long overhead dimension pulls on pipe and structural steel. I have used the 35 foot Stanley Fat Max for almost 20 years.

This 35′ is perfect. Strong built and high quitlity. Great for framing.

I’ve had this tape for 3 years and it’s one of the best and strongest tape measure I’ve ever had! I work in pre-cast and I do side jobs in carpet, tile, and laminate with some granite. It has enough tape to measure everything from loading 18 ft semis to 100 yards of carpet !

I have been using this for almost a month now and like the quality. The blade retracts effortlessly and stays locked in place when needed

What a terrific tape measure! Super sturdy blade for measuring long distances in particular. No flapping about when the blade is extended, lies flat and straight. Good-sized and clear markings make it real easy to read even upside down. Excellent ‘grippy’ texture of the case makes it easier to hang on to. Very compact case given the 35′ length of blade. The *only* reason I didn’t rate this as 5 star was because of the size. It is a large case because of my small hand size. That said, this is my new fave tape measure!

Great tape for old yes, easier to see the markings on a larger width tape, The larger size of course weighs more than normal, but still a good buy.

I bought my tape measure 2yrs ago and it’s still going strong.

I have had this tape measure about 2 weeks. I like the way it feels in my hand, even though it is a little heavy it has a good grip. Extended it hold up to 12-14 ft. good for one person measuring. I dropped it 10 ft. to side walk and it did not break.
