I actually bought this utility knife for my husband as a gift for his birthday. I will say this, it’s the best utility knife he has ever owned. My husband works on a cattle farm and he’s always having to cut something exspecially string they bail hay with, it’s always getting caught up in the hay cutter and he has to cut the string away so that it doesn’t get caught up and tear up the wheels on the hay cutter. The rubber grip gives it support and sturdiness so that you have more traction when cutting and doesn’t slip and slide around . My husband has had this knife for a year now and has yet to have to replace the blade on it and he uses it every single day for some kind of job he’s doing. It’s the perfect size that fits right in his pocket of his jacket. It is that tough and its been through a battle, it’s been dropped, ran over, rained on and cut through some pretty thick rope and its still as sturdy and durable as the first day I bought it. I will never buy anything but A Stanley Utility knife. It truely stands by . name.

As a professional handyman, I try a lot of utility knives but this one was a little unique. For one, it’s shorter than a typical non-folding utility knife and, second, the retraction button is on the side and not the top edge. I love both of these features. The shorter length actually fits in a pocket better and having the button on the side eliminates the problem I have with retractable knives which is that the button accidentally retracts sometimes when I’m trying to bear down on a cut. It’s the first retractable knife that I think I would recommend. The only thing that I wish it had was additional blade storage. Also, the unusual blade changing feature take a little time to figure out but once you do it, it’s actually quite handy.
