Been using this for a few weeks now and it has been my favorite lately. The solid metal construction is sturdy without being too heavy. The blade is stable and doesn’t have that loose feeling. Extra blade storage on the back of the knife is nice (you do not need to open the entire knife like you have in the past.)

I received this knife from Stanley. On opening the package it is a very good looking knife. The handle has a nice ergonomic shape to it, and the knife when loaded cuts very well.I used this purposely on carpet to put it through a test It cut very well with no loading up of carpet fibers and no sticking in the material. Also the handle material was very comfortable while cutting thick carpet and padding.There were two things I disliked and subtracted a star for. First, I found myself looking for a belt clip. It makes using a knife of this design easier to use since it is always within reach. Secondly, there is no real position for your thumb outside of putting it on the blade lever. After some hard use that becomes uncomfortable very quickly. Outside of that, a very nice blade.

I liked this knife for many reasons but best of all, I liked the grip. It’s angled nicely so that you can box cut with ease. It has a recession for your forefinger that makes it comfortable to pull the knife. It has a triangular shaped cross section handle that is thicker on the top than bottom. This allows you to push down harder and the handle has a flip out compartment to hold extra blades. There is a push button on the side that releases the blade for easy changes. I love the paint job on the knife. It’s baked on with nice texture to prevent slippage, not like the cheapo gray knives that’s everywhere available but seems to be sprayed on and too smooth. The final plus is the blade is very sharp and slices with ease. The blade is slightly loose but that’s the case for every retractable knife. If you want a blade that has no jitter, then you need to use the lock blade knives.

I have used many different knives throughout the years . From give always to specialized. I came across this knife when a contractor was working on a job for my work. He told me it’s the only knife he uses. Bought it and I have to agree, holds well in your hand, blades are easy to change, plus it seems to have better leverage while cutting. Would not trade it for anything else.

This is probably one of the most used tools that I have. I have used it for opening boxes, cutting materials for jobs such as plastic, rope, cardboard, vinyl and canvas. The blades are extremely durable and stay tight inside the knife housing. The rubber grip makes one handed opening and use a breeze. I would recommend this item to have in any household and/or toolbox.
