The Stanley 6-piece wood carving set includes the basic specialty tools for detailed wood removal and contouring. The natural wood handles optimize comfort and provide stability for precision word working. Each blade is tempered and precisely ground for cutting strength and edge retention. This set includes 1/2 in. straight chisel, 1/2 in. skewed chisel, 1/4 in. straight chisel, 1/4 in. v-parting chisel, 1/4 in. bent gouge chisel, 1/2 in. curved flat chisel.

I really like the wood handles on these chisels! They came very sharp right out of the box. I’ve used this carving set quite a bit while remodeling my house. I’ve added a couple dead bolts to my exterior doors and these made it so easy to remove the excess wood so the locks could set flush. I also used while remodeling some cabinets. I highly recommend for anyone looking for great, well-made wood carving tools in a convenient set.

it was okay for 2 or 3 jobs. they dull out quickly. but cant really beat it for what, $30? worth the money if you dont plan to use them much, or at least not super precise work

This is a good hobbyist set. Chisels have nice balance in the hand. I’ve been wanting to carve a wood sign for my garden and these are perfect for that use. The tempered steel edges are not evenly sharp; they are irregular and not ground well. I will have to sharpen four of the six chisels. The packaging is flimsy; the plastic tray tore in three places just in removing and replacing them from the exterior box. That is a shame because these tools are something I don’t use everyday and was hoping to store them in the original packaging. Overall quality is good at a hobbyist level.

I received this thinking they were to be used with a wood lathe, that being said I sampled them on some hard wood. All the chisels are very sharp and will gouge into the oak. I scraped some spots to see how each shape performed and could tell they work as intended, unfortunately I did not have anything else to try them on. Only thing was that the metal ring on one of them didn’t stay secure and kept falling off the handle and onto the shank of the blade.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REPLACEMENT FOR THESE GUYS! THEY ARE RAZOR SHARP, AND GIVE THE ABILITY TO CARVE WOOD A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT WAYS FOR DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS! PERSONALLY I AM NOT A GIFTED ARTIST WOOD CARVER, BUT IN CARPENTRY, I DO FIND THE NEED TO PRECISELY CARVE GROOVES, NOTCHES ETC INTO WOOD, DEPENDING ON THE TASK AT HAND, AND THESE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I WISH I’D HAD A SET YEARS AGO!
