When I got this tape measure, I was skeptical going with a ‘brand name’ tape measure would be any different than any other. I was wrong. The numbers are clear, showing every eighth of an inch with eighths called out on top and the full measurement – 3 and 3/4″ – shown on bottom. And of course, I can’t forget the LeverLock. It’s quick, easy, and has a strong spring to retract the measuring tape once it is extended. The fact that it is nearly automatic is awesome

Every shop has a tape measure it’s pretty much a standard and Stanley is alway the go too, when you get your grandads toolbox chances are the tape your going to find in it is a Stanley. The reason for this is because there well built and they last unlike other brands where the paint chips on the tape, and after a while you can’t read it, this tape is bright and easy to read. The lever lock is super convenient when you only have one hand free. But if I miss anything it’s that original metal case that Stanley had on there tape measures but the lever lock makes up for that!!

I like the leverlock and the tape is accurate. At first I thought the tape was a little bit “busy” with the fractional markings on one side and the “half” measurements on the other. I’ve been using tape measures for so long that I really didn’t think these would be useful to me. I was wrong because I found it easy to use the fractional numbers when the lighting wasn’t very good. I loaned it to a guy at work who struggles with measurements and math and he found it very helpful. Overall, I like the tape. I think it might be more popular with people who don’t have a lot of experience reading tape measures. It might also be a good teaching aid. I did run into one problem with it. I pulled the tape all the way out and it was a little bit of a struggle to get it back in. Once it was rewound, it worked like new again.

I mean its a stanley tape! Need i say more. The LEVERLOCK feature just makes it that much better! i just built a deck, and measuring long spans came easy with this tape. Strong durable and stable. Dropped it ten or more times with zero affect to the housing. I actually now have 4 on hand for all areas of my shop! Highly recommend.

Didn’t realize it was a center scale tape when I ordered it. I gave it a try, its a good idea and useful, but its a little difficult to read quickly when you are a long time user of a standard tape with just hash marks.I will see if I adapt!

I have had an earlier version of the LeverLock for many years. I was surprised to see the common fractions within each inch printed on the tape. This saves counting the little lines and is a bit of a game changer. Great product!

An excellent tape with easy to read numbers. The only strike against it is the foot marks need to be easier to read.

I tried this out for some projects I specifically wanted to try the leverlock feature. It’s great for measuring the same distance at different angles and repeat marking. Love it and I find myself using it more and more.

I love the self locking feature, it makes it so easy to use with one hand without the tape always retracting. Great feel. Numbers are easy to read. One thing I should mention is that the tape contains a lot more markings than others but I think there should be an explanation of them as a feature included. This is a good feature.

I very much like the look and feel of this tape measure. It’s just weighty enough to feel sturdy but not too bulky. I like how we can control the speed the when retracting the tape with the new “Leverlock”. Great to use in small house projects like wood forming.

The LeverLock line is my favorite tape measure by Stanley. LeverLock fits the hand perfectly and the standout is great. My only complaint is that the foot marks are to small.

This tape measure feels like it’s trying to do to many things. First of all, while the center finding feature is nice, it makes it so I can’t use both sides to measure, for a woodworker like me it just feels like more of a hassle then a benefit. Many people have said their lock has broken, mine does feel looser but not broken yet and it’s been used every day for two weeks. I suspect that pulled the tape without loosening the lock is what breaks it. I do have a lever lock that’s probably 30 years old and it’s in perfect working condition. The writable label is just weird, without an eraser I had a hard time removing anything and the softness of it kept breaking my lead, I just stuck to writing on the plastic. One place the lever lock is best is when you’re measuring long distances yourself, with only one hand being needed and the tape can be adjusted without unlocking. I’d say this tape is best for a homeowner who’s commonly doing renovations, but it’s not well enough built for a professional and it’s just to out of the ordinary for use in a wood shop.

This tape measure extends by squeezing on the lower part of the body and stays extended until the lower part of the body is squeezed again. It extends and retracts smoothly and at a reasonable speed. When extended, the tape is firm and has useful degradations every 1/8 inch. This tape measure feels like a quality product and has the performance to match. I highly recommend this product because it is worth the quality it provides.

I love that the tape measure stays out until I release. No more trying to lock it in place.
