Description
The Stanley 145-Piece Mechanics Tool Set contains 3/8 in. drive and 1/4 in. drive pear-head ratchets accompanied by 70 SAE and metric sockets along with 30 specialty fastener bits, 12 combination wrenches and 16 hex keys among other tools frequently used to build, maintain and repair mechanical equipment. Each ratchet has a quick-release mechanism for expedient socket detachment and a reversing lever allows ratcheting power to be flipped easily into counterclockwise mode. These heavy-duty tools are constructed with chrome vanadium steel to power through rigorous applications where leverage and high torque are critical.

This tool set has a good selection of sockets, but the ratchet handles do not appear to be of highest quality. There are not enough wrenches of either “English” or metric (4 each) and they appear to be of a lesser quality that the Craftsmen that my father owned. So, my initial response was that it was not the best set, but then I paid about half compared to another set at another “big box” store. So perhaps I got what I paid for, but given the name brand, I was expecting higher quality.

I’m not a mechanic. Just a retired homeowner and master of “honey-do’s”. This Stanley set gives me everything I need to fix things. Except pliers. And I already own a set of those. The Stanley brand has been around for years. I trust their quality from other tools I own from Stanley. Seems like they never wear out or break. The biggest problem is that after a few years they grow legs and come up missing. That is why I bought this set. The price is great also. If you are handy like me, you cannot go wrong for the price
