I was looking around for days before finding the proper device. Finally found this online and it is working perfectly after 1 week. In my setup, the PC laptop is output to an Apple 27 monitor. Initially, I was using the USB also thinking that’s where the sound was outputting to the monitor sound, but after accidently disconnecting this, I notice the Display output also carries the sound. 🙂 Just in case you didn’t know, less cables to map for me! 🙂

Thanks startech for making this cabel – now i can use my apple led cinema display that has mdp(m) with my w10 PC with dp(f). Everything is fine, at least right now, at the first day of using it. I’m happy 🙂

Neither the cinema display nor the laptop recognized a device at the other end when connected. Disconnected and reconnected a dozen times. No responses from either device. Reloaded Intel drivers – zip. Called up my tech support, they couldnt get it to work. Plugged a mac in, without the adapter and screen came instantly to life. Determination – adapter is junk. Could be my bad luck but I wouldnt get this if I were you.
