Thunderbolt cables will not work when connecting to pre-thunderbolt Macs. This was truly plug and play.

Purchased this cable to connect a MacBook pro to a 34in ultra wide LG display. Should be simple plug and play but unfortunately it did not transmit signal to the monitor after connection. I even utilized a dongle to make sure that my port was not defective and confirmed that the port was transmitting signal but this particular cable was not. Maybe a lemon… idk.

I ordered this cable to connect between a 2015 MacBook pro retina display and a new LG 34UM88 UltraWide display. Should be a simple plug and play, but unfortunately this cable did not transmit signal to the monitor even though the monitor detected there was a cable present. I tried to restart the monitor and laptop, but to no avail. I will be returning the cable. Must be a lemon.

Works as expected at reasonable price. MacBook Pro now uses older iMac with excellent screen as an external monitor. Very easy to switch between the iMac use as a computer or monitor using Command-F2.

I looked everyone for one of these cables department stores, computer repair shop, all over the state. thanks to their VERY wide selection of inventory. I was able to get my VR headset and laptop connected and functioning.

I have a 2010 and 2015 27 iMacs, so I use this cable in conjunction with the older iMac as a second display in target display mode. Plug the cable and boot both machines, press cmd+F2 on the old iMac and presto, dual display system (note: in order to use the newer iMac as an externar display you need a different cable, but with the older models it works just fine).

Unlike some other monitor cables or regular HDMI cables. it supports for my 27 iMac 1440 pixel resolutions.

Does not work as thunderbolt 2 cable as well. Mini display only.
