No need to install any drivers, they are installed automatically in Windows 11 and my third screen now works with the correct resolutions already configured. Once connected to the computer, you have to wait 1 or 2 minutes before everything is correctly configured though.

I purchased this device to utilize a second monitor using a 3.0 USB port from my laptop; this device bridged my laptop to the monitor. It worked great for two consecutive days, but died on day three. Device got extremely hot and then it stop working.

I was very frustrated after spending several weeks and money trying to find a device to add a 3rd monitor to my Huawei Matebook D15. Long story short, I found out after buying another expensive adapter, that the Type-C port on my laptop doesn’t transmit video signal (FML!!!). I came across this StarTech adapter, but was hesitant at the beginning because I had never tried a video adapter that connects via USB, but at the end I decided to give it a try in order to exhaust any available options to accomplish what I needed. Once I got it, I downloaded the latest driver from their website, followed the installation instructions, and upon restarting my computer and connecting the HDMI cable to the adapter, Voila! I got video! Although I couldn’t use the 75Hz that my monitor supports, I felt happy to finally had found what I needed. Cheers,
