The blue Male to Female Desktop SuperSpeed USB 3.0 A to A Extension Cable connects to an available USB female port on a Mac or PC computer, allowing you to relocate the USB (female) port up to 5-feet away from the computer case. By extending the USB 3.0 port away from the computer case, you can situate the port from the computer in a more practical spot, such as on top of a computer case or on a desktop.
Designed for next-generation SuperSpeed USB device connections, this USB 3.0 A-to-A Male/Female cable provides connectivity between a PC and hub or other USB devices, supporting a throughput of up to 5Gbps when used with a USB 3.0 host and device, 10 times the capability of USB 2.0 (480Mbps).
This cable features high quality Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) construction, helping to prevent electro-magnetic interference and ensuring reliable data communication and is a great solution for accessing digital cameras, MP3 players, USB thumb drives or other external USB storage.

I use this to tether my camera to a computer for digital image capture. This is hands down the best tether on the market.

This is just what I needed to bring the USB port on the back of our 65 Samsung (also purchased form B&H) to the front, and not have to keep trying to plug into the back of the TV.

Worked great. However it has a connector have way down the cord and a car smashed it right away and it as rendered useless.

Do not buy the 10m cable if you are shooting tethered and moving around a lot. The extension part is extremely fragile and won’t last long. Lost two brand new cables in a month. Same exact issue on both.. The cheap plastic casing will break exposing the cables that will eventually go. Two 15ft together is way more solid then this one long cable.

This is a very expensive cable and a very good one too. But I strongly recommend buying the Tether Tools JerkStopper Extension Lock to safeguard the female end from getting stepped on and crushed. (It’s happened twice to me already). Also may want to consider 1/4 flexible plastic tubing to protect the cable as well. You can get this at any store that sells electrical stuff.

I bought this USB extension cable to run printers, scanners and software defined radios (SDR) that are located about 30 feet from me. I first tried 3-4 USB 3.0 extension cables that are not powered; they didn’t work. This 30′ StarTech powered USB 3.0 cable works great. I’m more than satisfied with it.
