Wow, Great Wire Strippers. Easy spring loaded grips & sharp cutting blades. Will Strip wires from 8 to 20 gauge easily & very efficiently. I have a few spread around from Truck to Shop to Home. I tend to lean towards Klein Tools & have 2 of the Klein Strippers & I must say this tool here is as good as the Klein. It fits the hand well & isn’t so big it become bulky. Tool seems to have a quality about it & is Hardy.

I have wanted one of these for decades. The quality of this one appears to be excellent. Very sturdy and fits well within my hand.I have tested it on several different wires, solid and stranded, one had a very tough Teflon-like covering. Once I located the correct gauge it cut and removed the insulation like a hot knife through butter. Of course, this is a BRAND NEW tool and I would expect it to be sharp. I have seen many professional electricians use this (or a similar) tool and it is indeed a time saver as well as preventing “nicks” on the conductors which can cause all sorts of problems.I only received this tool today so I cannot attest to the longevity or as to how well it will function if used on a daily basis. I can only attest that it will be used on just about every automotive and home wiring job I come across in the future and it will make that part of the job so much easier, quicker and with far less issues.Almost forgot… I hadta wire in a few Ballasts into overhead fixtures on a 12 foot ceiling… and trying to cut and strip those wires on a tall ladder using the typical strippers required two hands… Once loaded, this only requires ONE hand and the other can hold onto the ladder!

I have a small wire stripper. The thing is that you have to cut the wire casing on two sides before you pull the casing off the wire. With stranded wire, you sometimes cut some of the strands and that makes the wire less productive to carrying electricity.With this wire stripper, you put the wire in according to the circumference and grip the handles. That cuts the casing on all sides and pulls the casing off the wire without cutting any of the strands of wire. Works on solid wire also.

I have used this great little wire stripper on several types of wire and it seems to pop the insulation off all of them without nicking the conductor. Most cheap strippers have a tendency to nick the wire and that can cause the conductor to fail at that location at some point in the future. The only wire it had trouble with was 18 gauge Teflon insulated wire. This was due to the fact that the Teflon wire is very slick. I am going to be using this a lot to keep from having a problem with the wire. Both a positive and negative is the fact that the stripper grabs the wire and prevents it from moving. On one hand it keeps the stripping action from pulling on the rest of the wire but on the other hand it makes the stripper a bit bulky.

I am a maintence professional. This tool is high quality and the type of stripper I wanted for many years, but always ended up having other priorities. I was very glad to see this available and be able to select. It is a great addition to my toolbox and will allow me to throw out some older, cheaper strippers. While I am not an Electrician, I end up doing a fair amount of work that requires stripping wires in any given year..This is also available at a reasonable price at HD….
