We purchased this SJ model to replace our hand held that we had from another manufacturer. That was an awesome tool until it was discontinued. This SJ model in our opinion is much better. Lighter to handle, very maneuverable with sharp blades. Charges very quickly and has a long run time. Based on the power and ease of use you will not be disappointed with this product.

I previously had another brand of hedge trimmer which battery died a after a couple of years (probably because I left it plugged in most of the time. The Sun Joe works great! Love both the grass shear and the hedge trimmer. The shear worked best on the Ninebark bush – branches are too fragile for the trimmer.The trimmer worked great on the boxwood pruning and the cedar trees. It was a little too small for old growth raspberry bushes that had not been trimmed in a couple of years. (stems too thick for it) The battery lasts very long with no charging. I used it for days trimming, before I finally had to charge it. Changing blades takes a little practice. Once you do it a couple of times, it gets easier. Highly recommend the Sun Joe!

Received the shears today and used them right out of the box with a partial charge . Tried cutting a hosta to ground level and the base, that holds the blades in place, kept falling off caused me to have to reassemble the blades and reinsert into the body of the tool . I decided to return them and try another set in case these were defective. I later decided on the Ryobi ONE+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Grass Shear instead. I think that is the better choice for our applications.

This is a good trimmer for its price. It says it is light duty and it is well suited for light use by a homeowner. It will not cut through a branch or vine the size of a pencil. It says to re-charge only when the battery runs out. If it stops in the middle of a job, that’s hours waiting.

My hand/thumb gets tired holding the button down so that it can be “in use”…….I used it to edge my yard….it was great…..but now the blades are dull and it doesn’t cut sharply…..how do I get the blades sharpened? It should be good for a lot more than just one project.! The tree or shrub trimmer part/blade is useless……..it only works for tiny branches……all in all I am glad I purchased it….as I have been looking for something like it for several years……. for the money….it is worth it………..I will add a photo later to enter in your contest.
