OK for trimming grass around difficult areas such as rose bushes. Hedge trimmer attachment only useful for very thin stems, otherwise stems are incompletely cut and stay hanging on the plant. For the price, it is acceptable, but no more than that.

Easy to assemble, charge has been sufficient for my needs. Have only used the grass attachment and that has worked quite well; need it for grass growing next to fence and cement areas. Have not used it without the pole attached as yet. All-in-all it performs just fine. It could be a little more stable but hasn’t been a problem thus far.

Almost 3 years later, this is still a dependable and essential adjunct to my other battery powered yard and gardening tools. Bought a new home 3 years ago and shrubs only needed shaping with my larger edger and I’ve always used grass shears for touching up hard to reach spots from the mower and weedwacker. Never had a reliable small hedger in the past and found my former one jammed too often to bother with it. So, my plans for this were strictly for a lightweight, reliable grass trimmer with a good battery life and an extension pole. Can’t extend the pole long enough to use it as comfortably as I’d like (and I’m only 5’4”) but, it’s ok since the battery is SO IMPRESSIVE! I usually run out of power before it does but I do have a small yard. None the less, I had to write a quick review today since I was online anyway learning how to change blades and try out my portable hedger attachment. Granted, I’m using it along with my larger hedger, but it is IDEAL for trimming those smaller diameter shrub branches near the ground and too close to the drip line to chance nicking it with the larger hedger. I hope this helps others, who, like me are looking for a lightweight, dependable grass and adjunct hedger. Not sure, if I’m permitted to say this, but, my last 2 models were both Black and Decker and, neither model had the power to cut thru small branches without jamming on every other twig.

Using it by hand is fine. Using it with the extension handle, not so much. Maybe for a very short person, I’m 5’7″ and still have to bend over to keep the blades straight. Also, the wheels are too small to roll easily in the grass.
