As the season has come to an end here in Colorado I am reviewing my iONPRO products. This string trimmer worked very well for me. I liked the variable speed capability. Once again I recommend a 2.5 Ahr battery for weight and balance considerations. I live on .25 Acres, fenced and I’ve never run out of battery to finish a job. I personally am not fond of the line supplied with the trimmer. High speed works best for tapping out new line. Replacing line is more difficult than shown in the directions but it can be accomplished. Generally I am pleased with the product and would recommend it as a very good home use product for small, medium or even larger lots.

There is room for improvement, for example, a variable speed trigger would improve the usability and quicker spin-up of the spindle.The biggest negative is the safety interlock release, it’s not ergonomic and requires an uncomfortable hand position each time the trigger is released, it acts more like a childproof lock instead of the safety mechanism to prevent accidental starts. it is one feature Ill bypass soon. Integrating this function into the trigger or in the grip would work much better.Overall it works well and performed all the edging my gas version does.This unit has the biggest battery I have seen in a consumer trimmer, 500WattI would recommend this to anyone looking for an electric consumer-grade string trimmer.
