l preface this by stating my leaf pickup needs are as follows:1)two mature maple trees(20 years old)2)one mature Indiana Tulip tree(like a pine but with large tulip shaped leaves)I have had the lawn vacuum for about a month. My wife tried when the first leaves started to fall and grass coverage was light. I just used it, which is the second time, on a part of yard which is fenced with one maple tree. In the past I would rake and then use an electric blower/vacuum which mulches. It mulches well but the impeller is worn again and it is hard on the back. The bag on my blower/vacuum is also worn and was not a good design.I started off using the vacuum, pushing it back and forth, like you would indoors and initially it worked pretty well. As I encountered heavier, wet leaves it started to clog in the plenum area which I gathered was from the wet leaves and this causes problems for my other blower/vac. It continued to clog and I estimate I stopped every two minutes or so to push the leaves deeper into the plenum so the suction could take over. As I used it I found the front rollers needed to be moved to the lower position which helped quite a bit and reduced the time to clog to about every four minutes. I also discovered you have to go slow to allow the leaves to be pulled in because it lacks the power to pull quantities in. In all it took me about four and half hours to clean the yard. Not bad but it is only a small area of my entire yard. It did relieve the back pain by about half but the slow pushing back and forth over bumpy terrain is tiring as well. After this initial use I have come to some conclusions about the lawn vacuum.Pros:1) It mulches pretty well2) It is light and fairly easy to push3) The bag is bigger than it looks but this is also a problem4) Emptying the bag is easier and it seems like it is decent qualityCons:1)It clogs a lot, especially if the leafs are more than two deep and even worse when wet2) I wish the bag was a little bigger because after you spend all of the time clearing clogs it would save some time between empties.3) The handle, for me(I am six foot), was too low. My wife found it perfect but it would be nice if it was extendable. It looks like it is but it is just how the designed it. 4) The plenum, while similar to other units, is not designed properly. Part of the issue appears to be the clamshell design which creates crevices for debris to catch and allows the suction to fall below what is needed and there appears to be bottleneck at the impeller due to the housing design.. This unit either needs more power or a redesigned plenum to create more suction. 5) The impeller already shows wear just picking up leaves. I doubt it will make it past two seasons and the wear on the impeller means reduced suction which will aggravate the clogging. 6) The spinner handle for the hinge point for the plenum to impeller area needs to be a quick release. The few times I picked up some 1/4″ branches they would lay across the impeller intake area and stop the leaves. This is very frustrating to use a spinner knob every time. I will say this happens with all bower/vacs but they normally have a button or quick lock turn design which saves a lot of time. Regarding the plenum area I found that pick up of leaves was slightly improved on the back stroke of the forward/back motion you use to grab the leaves. This reinforces my belief that the plenum seals slightly better when the leading edge is closer to the earth. Other handheld blower/vacs use a circular or oval shaped pickup that is longer and the tube is smoother which creates more force. I understand the reason for the design but the execution is flawed here. in addition the impeller design incorporates a metal “chopper” style blade in front of the plastic impeller. I am sure this is designed to add to the mulching capabilities and also to handle larger, denser materials. It may seem odd that I rated this four stars when you consider the flaws out weighed the positives but let me explain. I like the design and if you use within reason it works well. The plenum design can be fixed as well as the spinner knob for impeller access. I may be using it beyond it abilities but I certainly hope not. The impeller wear is concerning as the material it is made of looks like it lacks any fibrous content that would help reduce wear. The impeller design/construction is essentially the core of a blower/vacuum product as it creates the vacuum and suction and as it wears so does the performance. A redesign of the impeller and a better plenum molding process would make a huge difference on performance.

Super easy set up. Definitely works better on dry leaves but figured as much. Happy with this unit.

When will the bags be redesigned because it sounds like they are too thin or not of strong enough material. The AC sunjoe leaf vacuum bags are nice and sturdy…

I was so impressed by how my new Sun Joe SBJ803E 14-Amp Electric 3-in-1 Walk Behind Outdoor Vacuum/Blower/Mulcher worked. After I read the instructions I was able to assemble it in just a few clicks, and it was ready to go. The Sun Joe has adjustable wheels depending on what terrain you are using it on. The wheels were very easy for me to adjust when I was using it on my lawn and adjust them back for my walkways. I decided to use it as a vacuum/mulcher to pick up all of the leaves, grass and small sticks on my lawn. It worked great! I was able to push and pull it all across my lawn until every last leaf was picked up. It was easy to roll with no issues. I am hoping for a cordless model in the future. The heavy-duty impeller has a 15:1 reduction ratio as it mulches so the pieces are mulched so small. After I finished my yard I looked into the 8 gallon storage bag thinking I had to empty it and I was surprised at how little space was used up because of how small the debris was mulched. I was then able to mow my lawn since it was so clean. After I mowed I was able to switch the Sun Joe to the blower mode and clear all the grass off of my walkways and drive way with no effort at all. I love using the Sun Joe 3-in-1 Walk Behind Outdoor Vacuum/Blower/Mulcher It makes yard work fun and can not wait to use it again.

I never knew anything like this existed. I seen it and had to have one! Our walkway and around the sides of the house get covered in leaves during the fall, and with the placement of them raking is a hassle. This does an excellent job at not only sucking all the leaves up, but it turns them into mulch which we use inside the chicken coop. It does have a bag which holds the mulch as well which was another plus. It can also blow the leaves kind of like a leave blower, which I also loves. It is pretty light weight for it to be a yard machine. It does seem to blow dirt up, but I think it is because it is already getting cold where I live and our grass is already starting to die. My seven year old loves to help us do the yard with this and she can use it easily. We have had no problems with it coming unplugged or not turning on. It seems to be very well made as well as durable. Overall, I am more than happy with this.

Very pleased with easy of assembly and use. Sometimes it continues vacuuming items up when the chute has clogged. Typically when branches or vines have bends or multiple offshoots. But easy to clear at bottom. And for serious clogs easy to undo the two knobs on screws to housing to remove and get at area where blades are clogged. Great to cleanup driveway after using SunJoe chipper or grass clippings after husband mows. Light enough for me to easily handle.

The blower is powerful and the mulcher works great. It turned the leaves into a powder which really saves on plastic bags. I do however have an issue with the collection bag. It had 2 holes in it after the second use . Like the other reviewer, I tried using duct tape ( on both sides) to cover the holes but to no avail. I strongly recommend that SunJoe develops a heavier duty bag that can stand up to the power of the blower/mulcher.

I was surprised to see this product because I never knew anything like this was out on the market. The amount of leaves that accumulate around my house/backyard is way too much for me to rake. This machine not only vacuums them up, but also turns them into mulch which I can use for any other gardening project that I may have. It is very lightweight which makes it easy to use. The blower is also handy to blow off the leaves that accumulate on the sidewalk and driveway.

The thing that i love the most about my Sun Joe 3-in-1 Walk Behind Outdoor is that it is a Vacuum a Blower and a Mulcher all in one! It’s a money and space saver too. Used it already in my spacious backyard and the job was done efficiently and easily. Easy to move around and store away too.

I have a paver pool deck and a lot of leafy trees close by. I needed to blow and suck leaves around the pool area on almost a daily basis. This thing works fantastic!!!. The vacuum feature is great for leaves close to the pool edge and the blower pushes other leaves further away for vacuuming. Emptying the bag is super easy. I have absolutely no complaints and the price is great for what it does. If you own a pool and have leafy trees close by you NEED this.

Joe has been Great with sending me new bags once they blow a hole, but I am on the 3rd bag ! O_o Being so powerful is awesome to get the job done …..but not for this bag ? Please design a hard plastic type catcher Joe ! I don’t care about the cost ? I would spend $30 for a catcher that lasts. I so want to keep this machine and not return :/Hope you are on it Joe ! Thanks for listening to the end user !

Works well, makes yard cleanup much easier. Bag holds a lot of mulched leaves. Have not had any problems with the bag tearing as I previously read. Very satisfied with this purchase.

My husband got me this for Christmas and it is just like vacuuming my rug. I have a lot of trouble with my hands and neck so a blower sucker upper is really difficult for me to use, but this is great. Today (June 1) I’m going out and clean up all the whirly seeds from the maple trees, the one thing I wish the vacuum did have was a hose attachment to clean up my garden beds. Maybe it will be on the upgrade model.

Bag quality is terrible. I had a blower vac and bags failed. I sewed this hole and will see effect. I only used twice . I hoped for better results. Unit design is good but bag quality needs review.
