Unit worked as described and spent several hours over two days with a 100 foot 14 gauge outdoor cord with no issues. Do suggest working out balancing weight to make it less tiring when working at shoulder height or above.

I now can trim high and wide bushes easily with the Sun Joe pole hedge trimmer. I like that it telescopes to the highest setting and has the adjustable head to change cutting angle for rounding cuts. In its lowest pole setting I can reach over wide hedges in one pass that required multiple passes with a normal handheld trimmer and being long I don’t have the cord dangling close to the cutting blade. (That alone can save some time in repairing cut cords.) Very well made and the price was just right.

It’s a bit awkward to use, due to the weight imbalance and lack of a trigger lock. A longer strap with an anchor point closer to the cutting end would make it much easier to use.

The trimmer is well designed and adjusting it is easy. It is a bit heavy to use for more than a couple of minutes, but I find trim a little – gather it up – trim some more – gather it up works just fine.

I’ve only used this once so I may not have figured it out yet, but this was super awkward to use. The weight of the trimming end is so much heavier that it was tiring to use..forget about holding it over your head for those tough to reach areas. I only really need it for one bush but had hoped to use it on all my hedges…not going to happen unless next time I find a better pivot point.
