First, it is very light and that makes using it very easy. Second, the battery life is really very good. It lasts plenty long enough to do my trimming for 2 weeks. Third, the edging feature is easy to use and does a very nice job next to my sidewalk and patio. This is not my first Sun Joe purchase and it won’t be my last!!

Had qualms about buying this online without seeing it, but put my faith in the reviews. To my delight, this trimmer is a great little unit. It is not designed for big nasty jobs (like clearing out heavy growth) but is plenty powerful for typical edging & trimming. It’s light enough for me (older female, small stature & failing hand & upper body strength) and love all the adjustments: shaft length, 2nd handle positioning, rotating & tilting head, etc…all very easy to change and experiment for ease of use. And it’s relatively quiet, compared to the old Beast that I could no longer handle. Very happy.

This has a VERY poor design on adding new plastic string. You have to keep removing the head to free up the plastic string because it does not get longer automatically during use because it is impossible to wind new string perfectly on the spool and the instructions tell you this AFTER purchasing it. They want you to purchase new spools that gets rather expensive. I decided to remove the white protective circle of plastic that goes over the rewound spool and it now works much better. I have a different trimmer/edger that did not have that plastic ring installed and never had the problem experienced with this model. The only reason that I purchased this model was the ease of changing it from a trimmer to an edger.
