I was very upset when this was delivered as it was left in front of my door in the pouring rain and the box was completely soaked through to the point that when I picked it up my hand went right through the box and as this was shipped as is without being put inside an additional box for protection I was very unhappy thinking that I would have to return this because it is an electric trimmer and it might not function properly if plugged in. Well after I took it out of the box I let it sit for a week or so and then tried to put it together and see if it would work, and it worked alright. It was easily put together and worked as promised I couldn’t be more happier with this trimmer even though the UPS guy didn’t do his job.

Picked this up for 14 bucks on sale as basically a throw away with not very high expectations, but I must say that for that price or even the $22 price knowing what I know now is a really good buy. % screws to secure it together and its ready to rock and I gave it the business figuring it wouldnt make it through the first go round with my yard… Aside from the string breaking and going into the spool twice( which is a quick fix) this thing handled my yards extremely well. It small, light-weight and has the forearm support which turns its small size into a bonus. Iam 6’4″ but this thing can be used one-armed by anyone for sure. Also dont let its small size fool you with its power either it flings rocks, shatters plastic toys and will easily break glass if youre not careful for sure, so dont make the mistake and wear shorts like i did. It comes with a loaded spool of string and after screwing it together is ready to run. I am very pleased with all aspects of this product from its price to its quality and the fact they didnt substitute one for the other. Fine job Sun Joe!!!!

I purchased this trimmer for cutting around our RV and it is perfect! Lightweight, easy to use, and takes up very little space. the string had to be rewound after I hit something in the grass once. The line receded into the casing and it was very simple to get setup.

This is a very nice inexpensive light-duty electric weed whacker. Out of the box, “assembly” is very easy and intuitive—just slide the 3 wired pieces together and insert screws. This is extremely light (under 3 lbs). It works just fine whacking weeds and grass with a 10” cut diameter. It has the standard bump-feed process. There are 2 major things to consider before selecting this weed whacker: how easy or difficult is cutter replacement (two plastic strings in this case), and whether electric connection is acceptable (relative to distance). Anyone who’s wound replacement string on the spool knows it is no easy task doing it right with no overlap (here’s a great invention idea: a spooler for this task like a fishing reel). This model has two strings and thus the spool has two separate areas requiring winding—making rewinding replacement far more difficult. Fortunately the replacement spools for this model come in a 6-pack relatively cheaply. If your needs are light-duty, you should consider this model.

It’s too small so if you have a really small yard, this would be OK. I returned this and went to HD store and bought a bigger one to save me time trimming the grass around the trees and edges.
