This set came in a nice reusable plastic organizer that fits good in shallow height tool box drawers. They are a good length – longer than standard, but not so long that they are unusable. The hose pliers have a good pulling angle, and the knurles don’t rip the rubber hose when you try to pull. I don’t know if I like the soft grips. They feel good, but time will tell how they hold up to gas & solvents. I use the hose removal pliers on fuel lines. It would be nice if the side cutter head was a bit smaller to fit into tighter spots, but the rest of the pliers in the set are very usable. I just noticed the set I have (#3613V) has the previously mentioned side cutters (that are not in the pic) instead of an extra hose removal plier that is shown in the picture.

I’ve picked up a few long reach pliers off the tool trucks over the years, but I’ve never had a complete set. These are as nice as the few I already have, but at about the same cost for a complete set as I’ve paid for individual pliers previously. The hinges operate smoothly, the grips are comfortable and easy to use, and the tips seem well-made. I haven’t had them long enough to judge their durability, but based on how they feel I have no concerns about longevity. I don’t need a long pair of pliers every day, but when I do, they’re lifesavers.

I brought this set to work soon after receiving it, eager to put it to the test. Sunex nailed first impressions with solid packaging – a tray that is practical (and limits waste!). For people that are required/prefer to shadow their tools, this is a bonus. Once I inspected the pliers I found them to be well machined, and all hinges moved perfectly with one hand and did not need breaking in. Another big plus to these is crosshatching in the needle nose pliers – they hold material far better than the straight teeth that come on cheaper pliers. The grips are Sunex’s usual chunky, smooth rubber. I have used a couple of their other tools with the same grip material and found it to work quite well, even when dirty. Overall I think Sunex has showed attention to detail for this product.Now for the fun part. I tested the diagonal cutters first-Pros: the head is slightly offset and very thick. This lends well to using the cutters for prying and twisting. The cutting surfaces showed no wear after attempting to cut hardened steel objects- the tool is properly hardened. Cuts are consistent throughout the blade due to head strength.Neutral: the size of the head makes it clumsy to work with if you need it in tight spaces. YMMV.Cons: the cutters are not particularly sharp and take about the same effort as cutters I’ve used that were little over half the size. This surprised me but perhaps they traded sharpness for durability. If I find use for them at all, I will likely continue using these for material manipulation instead of cutting.And the needle nose-Pros: high leverage and good bite on the material. Pulls and twists reasonably well without distortion. I deliberately dragged the teeth on some hardware to see if the crosshatching wore down, but it held up nicely.Neutral: crosshatching isn’t the sharpest, but this is good in my case as I often handle softer materials. Cons: none.Overall, besides the cutters, Sunex did their homework when putting the set together and will serve you well.

I will start off by saying that my set differed from the picture listed in the fact that the adjustable jaw pliers/hose pliers have been replaced with a nice set of matching long handle diagonal cutters This set is perfect for someone that is looking to replace the set or sets of pliers you buy in haste while trying to get a project done. I give sunex a lot of credit on this set, normally it would be a 3 pack of needle nose or hose grippers and that’s it. This set gives a fair bit of variety without giving you anything you won’t need .I quite like the packaging, they come in a molded plastic tray that is perfect for laying straight into a toolbox drawer The tools themselves are of a quality as good if not better than anything you’ll find at the big box stores. The grips are designed well and feel good in hand and there is little flex in the midsection when under load like in cheaper units .I did notice 2 small things that could have been done a little better in my opinion. #1 is the jaws could stand to open a bit wider (anyone who has dealt with a squeeze type hose clamp knows what I’m talking about) #2 is the finish of the midsection, this is only a personal preference but I felt they should have spent a little more time on a sander to smooth out the imperfections due the the casting being on the rough side. Again this is only a preference and does not effect the performance of the tool. Overall a good quality set that will stand up to anything you throw at it

These long reach tools are extremely handy for working on any project but especially modern vehicles. How many times have you needed just a little more reach to get to a hose or clamp for removal but something was in your way. While you can’t access everything with these, the extra couple of inches certainly help. The serrations are deep to give you a good non slip grip. The handles are soft and comfortable. The set consists of a straight, 45 and 90 degree pliers, 5/16, 1/2 and 3/4 hose pliers and a diagonal cutter. A molded plastic box holds them securely in place. I would have preferred a polished finish instead of the brushed finish, but that’s just me. You won’t be disappointed. Check prices as I have seen a large spread on these from suppliers.

Let me start with my set came as others have mentioned, with a side cutter instead of the slip joint pliers shown. This set is as good as some of my what I’ll call high end pliers. The comfort grips are pleasing on the hands while still easily cleaned. The action was a bit tight out of the box as expected. After a few openings and closings they are as smooth as glass. The grease used in the joints does leak out during initial use but that is expected. Would much prefer a bit extra lubrication than not enough when breaking them in.The cross hatching is machine to provide grip while not damaging soft (rubber) materials. One thing, which may be of no consequence to most, I really like was the fact the supplied shipping tray was made of stout plastic unlike many others. This is great for those wishing to use the tray for organization.
