This is my first set of pliers that will actually grip and hold. Very well built and look like they will hold up. I also like the color of the handles that make them stick out. The push button adjustment makes it quick and easy to use.

I have had these quick adjustable pliers for a while now and they work great. They adjust really easy at the push of a button and the slightly oversized comfort grip handles are easy to hang onto and easy on the hands when applying pressure to you work.

I received this pliers set about 2 weeks ago now and all I can say is wow! I should have gotten some of these sooner. The rapid ease of adjustment is incredible. I am even able to adjust (to larger sizes, reducing sizes requires two hands) with one hand. This makes certain task much easier leaving the other hand to hold pieces in place as needed. The notch in the jaws for hex fasteners is perfectly aligned to really grab regardless of the adjustment position. This got me out of a pinch tightening some anchoring brackets down on my garage build. I was unable to get a normal adjustable wrench in the location and the all thread was too long above the nut to use a deep socket. The angle of the jaws, the narrow body, and especially the hex notch in the teeth allowed for me for access the fastener where only a watching wrench would have worked but the swing arc on those would have taken forever to tighten. The grips feel comfortable in the hand and allow for easy and quick cleanup without absorbing oil or grease. I am sure they stain some over time but that has yet to happen. My only real gripe is with the flat spring on the adjustment mechanism. I don’t like the fact it sticks out during adjustment. It is not really a functional issue so much as personal preference. That said, I would (and likely will) get another set in a heartbeat. Oh, and a request for Sunex, maybe make a green handled set?

As an aircraft mechanic, I tend to be tough on tools. I will abuse them from time to time or use them in ways not intended. The Sunex water pump pliers are holding their own in that respect, and the jaws are not dulling even after using them to grab the stripped out heads of titanium screws!

Use these pliers everyday. They are built to last.

A decent copy of a very expensive set. Fit and finish seem to be spot on. plastic handles seem sketchy, would rather have rubber diped handles. but over all seem to be ok.

As an automotive technician having quality tools is very important. The quality of these pliers is incredible. The easy push button adjustment is a great feature you don’t have to worry about them slipping to a bigger size when they are fully extended. The handles they have make the very comfortable in your hand as well. Sunex did a great job with these pliers and they are definitely my go to!

I was looking forward to receiving this pliers set. The set came in a heavy duty nylon tool roll. This is a real plus for me because one day I am in my shop working on a vehicle, and the next I am putting tools in a bag or bucket to work on a rental property bathroom or dragging them into a crawlspace. The pliers themselves seem well made with substantial handles, a nice push button locking mechanism, and teeth that had real bite. But the real test of a tool is on the job, so read on.So far, I have used the pliers on projects ranging from household plumbing to automotive to literally rebuilding the water pump on an equestrian property. The teeth bite well and feel hard , so I expect that they will grip for a long time to come.I love the fact that despite being push button locking – which keep the size/setting you choose, I can still work them one handed. The handles are comfortable – I have big hands and they fit well and allow me to squeeze and get an excellent grip on what I am working on. The handles have proven to give a great grip despite being wet or greasy and show no sign of wanting to twist. The slim head fits into the tight spaces you find working on equipment and machines – and where my other pliers wouldn’t. They also clean up nicely. All in all I am really pleased, and these will be the first pliers I grab 90% of the time. I have a few other tools made by Sunex, and they are definitely on the short list when I am looking to add on or upgrade my tools.

I got these to replace aset that l have had for over twenty years They work very well. The only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is the adjustment button sticks out a little to far and can get in the way in tight spots

These pliers work great! They hold really well and don’t slip once they have a bite. I really like the different size options as well. These have definitely become my go to pliers.

Upon receiving these pliers, you are presented with a nice, simple box that contains all three pliers in a nice canvas pouch. The pliers do come individually wrapped in a plastic bag and each tool has a coating of oil.The grips on each of the pliers feel nice in the hand. The cushioning provides a nice amount of padding around the handles. When squeezing hard they do not feel like they are digging into your hand. However they are mostly smooth so if working in a greasy or oily environment they might not be the best. There is a small section of texture on each handle to aide in grip though.Opening the jaws is easy and done by a nice, large button. Even with padded mechanics gloves on I was able to operate the button without a problem. They adjust quite easy. Each jaw contains a small, flat section at the tip that can firmly pull wires or grip nails (such as finishing nails with no or small heads to them). They are serrated with no smooth portions so they will leave marks if using on softer metals or really clamping down on the object. As for openings the 7″ ranges from 1/4″ to approx 1-1/4″ opening. You could get slightly more or less depending on the item you are trying to grip. The 10″ ranges from 1/4″ to 1-1/2″ and the 12″ from 1/4″ to 1-3/4″. Again those are approximate as it will depend on what you are trying to grip. In use I found the best range to be from 1/4″ to around three quarts of their maximum opening. As for use, I used these around the house on pretty much everything I could while testing these pliers. They were used for tightening hose connection on water faucets, changing quick connect fittings on air hoses, removing bolts from my project car, pretty much all sorts of uses. The 12″ was also used on my water heater anode which has a smooth section to grip to and was corroded to the tank. They held great and were able to apply all the force I required.Overall I am quite happy with these pliers! They are a great addition to the toolbox and work quite well!

I’m very happy with these particulate pliers. The teeth are excellent to get that gripping power you need. I personally love to use this style of pliers for pesky hose clamps. The jaws open wide enough and the grip handles are comfortable enough to hold on to without making your hand cramp up. The angle of the jaws provides enough room to get into those tight spots. The push button is sturdy. I feel like where the pliers hinge is a tad loose, but it never affected the performance when I did use them. A great little set of affordable pliers.

To start off I was very pleased with the appearance and packaging of this set they came in a pouch which would be handy for hanging on a peg board or jus to leave them while in your box. I was a bit skeptical of the grips on them at first(I was worried they may pinch my fingers in between them if I slipped off whatever I may be using them on) after testing that theory I was soon proved wrong they had a decent amount of room between the tips which squashed that worry as far as the jaws they gripped very well I used them on a few bolts and a piece of exhaust pipe to thread it out and the teeth held up really well the didn’t strip or flatten out like some other high dollar pliers I’ve used. The only thing that concerned me was the flex of the handles as you gripped them tightly but I was using all the force I had when I noticed this overall I was impressed with the quality of tools you get for the price.

Sunex’s foray into water pump pliers lives up to their usual quality and value standards. They come well packaged in a sturdy box. Inside is a surprisingly tough tool roll that will work nicely to keep them together when tossed into a toolbox, but looks nice enough to display on a peg board. The grips are a hard rubber material that feels good the in the hands – not too sticky, but grippy. The color is bright and easy to spot (aka, harder to lose when you set them down). I feel fairly confident the material will stand the test of time if they aren’t abused (subjected to solvents, etc.).The adjustment operation is quick and smooth. Easy enough to do one handed on the smaller pliers. Once locked there’s really no danger of the mechanism slipping. The jaws align well, with only a bit of slop in the smallest pair. The medium and large pairs especially feel very solid when reefing on stuck fastener. The jaw serrations are hard and have shown little wear in the last few week of use. And the cutouts really let you get a bite on hex nuts. The overall shape let’s you get into those impossible to reach spots when nothing else will do.Overall, I’d recommend these to any home user or shop looking to improve their “tongue-in-groove” style pliers. The value is definitely there and they include the Sunex Lifetime warranty. They’ve supplanted my more traditional pliers, and I have zero regrets.
