The Sunex 3704V 11 in. Heavy Duty Specialty Pliers Set makes installation and repair less frustrating. It comes with a high leverage cutting plier, a ½ in. adjustable hose gripper plier, and a ¾ in. adjustable hose gripper plier. These are not your typical long-reach plier set as I expected. These are specialty tools specific for automotive/mechanic work, specifically for working on hoses. With that said, these are very useful when working on air, oil and cooling systems – the ability to grab hoses and pull them with pliers versus manhandling them off and busting your knuckles because of limited clearance. The two pliers and the cutters all come in a nylon pack which rolls up and has elastics to keep it rolled up. The finish on these is OK – not perfect but not junk either. But after the 1st use of any tool, who cares as long as it works.

I got these just over a month ago and have been very happy with them! First the grip extremely comfortable and fit my hand perfect, Next the pivot hinge smooth as can be perfect amount of tight vs. loose enough you don’t have to work to use them. The hose pliers work awesome from everything from fuel lines and vacuum lines to radiator hoses and the bull nose cutters work awesome in those hard to reach places including cutting zip ties around wire looms!! Overall a must have!!

These tools are pretty good. The finish isn’t perfect but if that matters to you then you shouldn’t be working on cars. For those hard reach hoses and clips. These pliers will serve you well. Made my life easier at work. I would recommend these.

Need to get a hold of that hose that is hard to reach or cut those zip ties that are hard to get to. These pliers will help you get the job done. Has a nice storage bag to hold them in.

I got this set with the intention of using them on small engine repairs. It’s spring again so all the carburetors need to be taken apart and cleaned. These long reach hose pliers make reaching under the seat on my rider easier when working on the fuel system. They seem to grip well thanks to the teeth on the jaws. There’s some flex when you squeeze the handles but that may just be because they are so long and you can generate a lot of leverage. The cutters work great for cutting down fuel line for replacing cracked / worn out segments. They seemed pretty sharp and the cutting edges met up well when closed. All of the tools have a good sized rubber grip that didn’t get gummy upon contact with fuel. The set comes in a nice tool wrap with elastic to keep it rolled up. The only negative I can see is the actual finish on the metal is a bit rough. The polished sections have a lot of pits and blemishes in them and the black finish is rough and not consistently applied / present. It doesn’t effect the functionality though.

I received these a few weeks ago, but wanted to make sure I actually got a chance to use them before I submitted my review. I had to replace a couple hoses on my car and these pliers worked great. They’ve also worked well for reaching into a few hard to reach areas when I needed something. I had to replace a connector that attached to my blower motor on my car and decided to use the cutters to cut the wires and heat shrink tubing. These cut the wires and the shrink tubing with very little effort. For fun, I also cut a 6D nail. It cut it, but it did leave a small nick on the cutting edge unlike the wires and tubing. So i’d avoid cutting too much hard steel.Overall, these tools work really well. They feel good in the hands and perform their tasks well. My only complaint is on the larger 3/4″ pliers, the handles bind a little bit in the wider position. It doesn’t really affect the usability of them, so I’m still giving them 5 stars overall. It was just a small annoyance I noticed while using them. If you’re looking for a decent set of hose pliers and cutters, I highly recommend these.

These pliers and cutters are very useful, rugged and high quality. The jaws on the diagonal cutters meet perfectly, and when put up to a light, no misalignment or gaps are visible.The long handles provide a lot of leverage for gripping and cutting. The large diagonal cutters easily cut through 6 gauge battery cable. The hose pliers are very handy and versatile. I used to ¾” pliers to not only remove heater hose, but also easily removed spark cables from a GM LS engine with absolutely no damage to the wires.

Shipping was very quick, and well packaged. Upon arrival I opened it and and was happy to see that the two hose pliers were also adjustable, eliminating the need for extra pliers. Fit and finish was good, though could have been a little better on the finish. However this is a tool however so who cares about that. They work great and the side cutters work amazing especially with the long handles for the added leverage. A must have for any tool box!

First impressions are everything these days and Sunex has not let me down! I opened the box and was blown away by the quality! Fit and finish on these pliers are perfect. All the jaws and tips line up perfectly. The long reach side cuts add leverage which helps you cut larger items. Also great for reaching into tight spots. This is my second pair of long reach side cuts from Sunex and I can tell you, these things last and last even when abused. I dont reccomend abusing your tools thou. The handles are very comfortable and ergonomic. Both sets of hose pliers are well made. The tips are very strong and line up perfectly. Theses will come in handy for removing hoses along with countless other task. Again, the handles are very comfortable and ergonomic. All 3 pliers come in a nice heavy duty tool roll. I’m happy to see Sunex bring back cases and tool rolls. So many companies have switched to cheap plastic trays that just get destroyed. Then your buying something to keep you tools in place when in your toolbox. It’s also nice when you have to work on something outside your bay. Just grab the roll and you know you are covered. I plan on buying a second set of these to have at home.

I used the smaller hose pliers to release a parking brake cable retainer. I like the slip-joint and plier jaw. They are built well, maybe a bit heavy compared to other hose pliers I have. The long wire cutter is nice, but I haven’t had a chance to use it much. It does cut electrical wire clean.

These three heavy-duty pliers come with a heavy-duty roll pouch. The finish is impressive, the jaws of the diagonal cutters line up perfectly, the tips of the hose pliers line up perfectly as well (as seen in the images). The handles are comfortable, even when exerting a lot of pressure and not once did my fingers slipped. The diagonal cutters are perfect to remove the metal clamps around CV axle boots. I was able to grab the clamp and with the long reach, I could apply enough leverage to just cut the band and remove it while sitting outside the car.I used the hose pliers to unplug electrical connectors that were tucked away under the cowling, next to the firewall, making them hard to reach by hand. I know that they will come in handy when having to remove heater core hoses with clamps right next to the firewall. Being able to grab them tight and twisting them will be a real time saver. The hose pliers have two positions to open the tips, making them very versatile.
