I was initially happy with the locking plier set as it performed as expected. However, the more I used them I began to notice lots of slop/ play in the handles. The threaded portion of the largest locking plier would seize on me when trying to turn it. I eventually had to use a tap and die to eliminate the binding of the threads. I would really like to see tighter tolerances between all the parts. I feel this would make the product more desirable. Also, the surface finish seemed to be a lower quality chrome plating. There are a couple spots that the plating flaked off.

This is my new Sunex Locking Pliers set. These are good quality and grip well. The pair out of the set that has been used so far (the largest ones) worked well and performed as expected. I haven’t had the need to try the others yet but I see no reason to not expect them to perform the type of work they were designed to do. I also like the fact that they came in a pouch.

I wish sunex was around 5-10 years ago when I started wrenching, my tool selection would be totally different! But these vise grips are a great alternative to the name brand at a fraction I f the cost and they still hold up and get the job done with no questions asked!

Each of the 4 included locking pliers is of very high quality. There is nothing worse than a cheap pair of locking pliers that, when opened while under pressure, blows apart requiring you to reconnect the ‘tongue and groove’ (I’m sure this is not the right term) connection. These Sunex pliers do not do this. The 4 sizes included in this set cover just about every imaginable use-case – you’ve got big ones with jaws fit for locking onto bolts, small ones for more intricate jobs, and even some needle nose. This is a great kit to have on hand just about anywhere you might see yourself doing some fixing. There is very little play in the joint of the pliers when open, not what I’d call sloppy at all.A usefully curated set of high quality locking pliers in an attractive and handy case. Bueno in my book!

We use these everyday in our shop. They have not failed us.

Hefty strong set of pliers even the needle nose. So far haven’t noticed the needle nose set spread the jaws at all like some sets do. Wish the tension adjust screw had an Allen head or something at the end to help tighten them up though.

The pliers in this set have a good solid feel to them. They don’t feel light and flimsy like some cheap brands. The quick release works ok. Did stick on me a few times but overall it works really well.

For me, all modern locking pliers are compared to now-defunct US-produced brands. These are every bit as good, if not better. In fact, the only issue I have is with my new favorite, the LP75 – I love the compact/stubby nose of these things, I just wish that the very end of the jaw was cross-hatched or had some kind of teeth, for gripping on the end of stuck bits that need to be pulled out. Other than that, they’re perfect (and that minor issue isn’t enough to mark these down a star).

The majority of my locking pliers are Peterson vice grips. These are as close to the original Petersons as I have found get.

Great assortment. Jaws have aggressive teeth for slip free grip. Little bit of play in the heads. Better quality than others in same price range by far. Love the storage pouch.

This is a nice set that comes with each of the main types of locking pliers. It comes in a case that can either be rolled up to bring them on the go or hung up for easy access. The quality is on par with what you should expect for locking pliers and I haven’t had any issues with them yet.
