I recently changed the shoes on a drum brake system. While I have a tool made specifically for spring removal/installation, I found it too large for this particular vehicle. These long nose pliers were just the right size. They had plenty of grip, even on the larger springs, and I was able to maneuver the springs with ease. I specifically like how the adjuster and release on these pliers are powder coated which provides extra grip.

Pliers work great have a strong positive bite. Have used almost every day since I got them for random tasks. Keep up the great work!

The adjusting screw and unlocking mechanism work so effortlessly compared to other locking pliers I’ve owned over the years. The serrations in the jaws are plenty deep to provide enough bite for stubborn studs. Just beware that they are 6” long and are probably best used on smaller fasteners 1/4” or smaller.

I have had the opportunity to try something different, I will admit when it comes to locking pliers, I have always used a different brand. But I will say, from now on, I will be going with Sunex. These pliers are tight, can handle abuse and they look good in the tool box.At first, I just thought they were great because they were new. But after a month or so of use they are still nice and tight. They don’t twist like some of the other brands that I have used in the past. Which can be frustrating when removing a stubborn or broken bolt. These pliers are a great asset for any tool box.

These are a great set of long nose locking pliers. I have used other brands before, but Sunex is now becoming my go to brand for all my tools. They are excellent quality in fit and finish. I have been using these all around the shop and are holding up great. I expect years of use with no issues. Teeth grip excellent and are easy to lock an unlock. Would recommend to everybody needing quality tools!

Got these to replace a lost set of Irwin brand. Quality/Fit/Finish is very good. The long nose comes in very handy at times. The jaws have a good set of teeth and a cut off tool for wires and other light metals. As an added benefit, you can slip some pieces of rubber hose on the ends and they will do double duty as “pinch off” pliers.

This is a review of the Sunex Long Nose Locking Pliers #LP6L (6 inch plain grip). These are the, well known, ALL METAL, locking pliers. They are 6 ½ inches long total. It comes with the Sunex Tools lifetime warranty. It’s made in China. There is no plastic tension release lever or over molded plastic to break off. It has a few cosmetic flaws since it’s a stamped metal and riveted tool but nothing that will affect its use. It’s a tool after all and will probably be banging and rubbing up against everything else in your tool bag for years to come with no ill effects. It has a wire cutter at the base of the teeth. This is not the tool I would use to cut wire but it’s nice to know it’s there. The wire cutter has a flat anvil on the top jaw and a 45 degree bevel on the bottom jaw. I best part of the pliers is the unlocking or opening arm. It’s on the bottom of lower arm instead of, like the old style, in the middle bar, connecting the upper and lower half of the pliers. The old style used to come unlocked all the time due to the placement of the unlocking arm and doesn’t have a very positive feel. On the Sunex pliers, the locking arm, on the bottom has a very positive feeling and gives you a chance not to unlock them if you touch the lever accidentally. They did not once come unlocked unintentionally. This tool does its job well and is very effective. They just work, all the time. If you’re looking for the old school type, all metal, locking pliers, with improvements, they should be in your go to bag.

Working on heavy duty trucks, it’s vital to have quality tools that are tough enough to work day in and day out. These needle nose are perfect for fabrication and holding stubborn bolts still when getting them loose.

Good appearing product finish, easy to use. Good grip when clamped. Handle not aligned with body, looks bent, unsure if damage after production or issues during production. Works geat, just looks off.
