Upgrade the memory in your compatible NAS server with the 16GB DDR4 2666 MHz ECC SO-DIMM Memory Module from Synology. This single RAM module features a capacity of 16GB, a clock speed of 2666 MHz (PC4-21300), and a SO-DIMM form factor. It is unbuffered and uses ECC technology to protect the integrity of your data.
Adding more memory to your system will help boost its capabilities, including improving system performance and application responsiveness. Start-up times will be improved with fewer delays during routine operations, and more programs will be able to run simultaneously with easier switching between them.

It’s working fine but too pricey.

Needed to run a small virtual machine on a clients Synology device, but didn’t have enough RAM, so bought this. Easy install and with it the VM is working great.

Most suitable & Make Quicker for Synology NAS, it makes faster & less work load for Hard Disk

I wanted to add to the RAM the Synology system comes with and this was easy to install and it just works. Make sure you install before you install your hard drives – it will make it easier.

Okay, so this is probably a little expensive for a 4GB SO-DIMM. However, it is compatible and easy to install. Granted all SO-DIMM’s install the same. So kudos to Synology for making the access in their NAS easy to get to in the drive bays. We are using this NAS in a home/home office environment with two users and we realistically did not need the RAM update since the NAS already had 2 GB. Even while copying over a TB to the NAS with the network saturated, the RAM use was not more than 20% with this module installed. If your environment has ten or more concurrent user connections to the SAN then you likely will benefit from upgrading the RAM. For our use case, this was more buying peace of mind than anything else and that was known going into the purchase.

Crazy expensive for what it is…. Synology might not warranty a device without Synology branded Ram, however…. Ugh.
