The black Targus 16″ Compact Rolling Backpack is a functional way to carry your essentials, wherever you’re headed. The bag features quiet roller wheels and a retractable handle, so you can roll it along comfortably. The main compartment has a soft-lined interior pocket specifically for a media tablet, offering protection against bumps and scratches.
The roller backpack has a large compartment for storing books, documents and folders. In a separate section, there is a full workstation where you can store all your accessories, key fobs and pens. For additional storage, there are two side mesh pockets — one is zippered for security. Two elastic straps allow you to stash a change of clothes.
And when you want to carry the bag by hand, no worries. There are two shoulder straps for easy carrying that can be tucked away when you’re not using them. The fold-away covers act as wheel covers when you’re using the bag as a backpack. Another benefit to the backpack is a lightweight form factor. At just four pounds, it’s a pleasure to carry and won’t add much heft to your daily load.

I bought this for my trip to Europe. I can either carry it as a backpack or roll it behind me when it gets too heavy. It has a great flap that folds over the wheels when it converts to a backpack.

I have a number of backpacks and rolling cases for my gear but wanted a combo for a trip. This case rolls far better (handle is more comfortable, too) than my Pelican case. Doesn’t protect the equipment much, of course – I added some padding. It fits my D810, 14mm, 20mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm and strobe with external battery pack plus a bunch of extra bits.

It feels durable and made from quality material. Even with all wheels and metal the bag is very light and feels sturdy. Good buy. I got this for my wife for work. She is happy 🙂

So I’ve been using this case for a week. It’s now where near as bulky as the laptop case. The 17” laptop case weighs 7 pounds when its empty. The only thing I need to do is grease the wheels. Rolling it around makes a lot of noise.

This rolling backpack is perfect! It is affordable, just the right size, has all the pockets you would want, including an interior sleeve for my laptop. It is also the perfect overnight bag, in that the zippers of the main section zip all the way to the bottom, allowing you to lay flat the lid to make packing and unpacking easy. Seems well made. Zippers work great, rolls great, handle extends and descends easily. The carry handle is padded, making it easy to carry (I never use it as a backpack). I expect to use it for the next 20 years!
