Tayama Induction Cooker 1500-Watt with free cooking pot. Induction cooking uses less energy and provides practically instant heat and since there are no open flames or hot coils, is safer to use than conventional burners. It allows for instant control of cooking energy for precise cooking control. Induction cooktops are designed to be used with ferromagnetic material like cast iron, steel, enameled cast iron, enameled steel or stainless steel. If a magnet sticks to your cookware, it will work on an induction cooktop. When a ferromagnetic cookware is placed on the ceramic surface, currents are induced in the cookware and instant heat is generated due to the resistance of the pan. The magnetic properties of the steel in the cookware will concentrate the induced current and generate heat. Once cookware is removed, all molecular activity ceases. Heat is generated at the cookware only so the cooktop stays cool. Will not work with aluminum, copper or glass cookware. ETL certified.

If you have the right pots and pans, meaning made from steel and not aluminum, this works pretty good. The pot that is included is made from a stainless and works well enough. However, all of my other pots in my household, this wouldn’t work on. Some were aluminum and I understand it doesn’t on them, but I had some other non-aluminum pots and I couldn’t get this to work. The error code will tell you when it can’t sense a pot made from iron. They do provide a magnet to test your pots and it didn’t sense enough iron in my pots. However, i tried it on the provided pot and the same result came up, no iron! Yet, it works on the cooker! For now, I am limited to using the pot provided until I can obtain some solid iron skillets and pots. One other thing I noticed and I’m not sure, but the top appears to be made of glass and they want you to be very careful to not chip or break.

This is a very nice cooker with pot to use sitting on a countertop and making a fast meal. I have heard a lot about these kind of cookers now I got my chance to try one out and I just love it. I can fry chicken on it with the pot all I need instead of having a lot of items on the stove at one time. I seem to burn myself a lot with to many item that are hot around me so this works out great for me.

I am really going to enjoy this little cooktop and it will come in really handy for Oneg with my Congregation. It’s going to take a little time to get used to though, because, I’m the type of cook that is forever lifting pans to shake what I’m cooking – the sensors don’t seem to like that, so it’s a learning curve. The manufacturer enclosed a little magnet to test your cookware to see if it’s compatible. Know this upfront, glass and aluminum cookware are NOT compatible. You need induction ready, or stainless steel and even cast iron will work. Be mindful that the cooking surface is glass/crystal therefore, fragile. And the surface of the cooker DOES get hot. What impressed me most is how FAST it cooks. It heats up almost immediately and I cooked a chicken breast in half the time I would have on the stovetop. I even boiled water in under 3 minutes. So, yep, I like it and I do recommend it.The one thing I don’t understand is the Sabu pot, that is so light weight, I thought the box was empty. The magnet does not stick to it. Following the instructions, I put water in it, placed on the cooktop and nothing. The cooktop does not recognize that a pan is sitting on it.This is the only fault I can find with this – except a padded carry bag like some induction cookers come with, should be included to protect it when not in use. I don’t leave it on the counter for fear of something falling on it when not in use.Did I say I really like it though? I do and I think you will too!

I had to return it because it didn’t fit on my kitchen counter. I live in a small studio apartment. Nothing wrong with it and would have kept it if it fit in my small kitchen area.

We love table top cooking because meal time becomes more of a family affair and there is far more interaction through the meal. I love how easily this induction hot plate can sit on the center of the table and cook our meal while we all sit around it. This works very well and makes dinnertime much more conversational and fun. We can do fondue and/or even have breakfast for dinners all while sitting around the table, campfire style.

I must say this seems well made with good materials, etc. ( they even provide a magnet to test your pans). The pan has a lid with a steam hole. I decided to try something easy – ground beef. Following the directions placing the food in the pan, the pan centered on the cooker and then turning it on went well. I just am not that impressed with the performance. The bottom of the pan was scorched looking when done – I’m not that bad of a cook! This would be great for a dorm room, a camper or if you needed additional cooking space.

We put our induction plate thru the true test of cast iron cooking and it excelled in proformance. It heated evenly. It was hot turn it off and then it is cool. Just simply the best cooking plate ever.

I’ve bought a grill from the same brand and it worked great so decided to try this induction cooker as well. I couldn’t believe Home Depot carried this type of device. The “Hot Pot” setting works great, but be careful. There was a magnet that came with it, but it didn’t seem to stick to the pot.

Great product works fast would not go back to hot plate. Pot is not stainless steel since I won’t cook with aluminium I don’t use the pot!!
