Built for use with impact tools, the TEKTON 1/2 in. Drive Deep Impact Sockets effortlessly break free rusty suspension and exhaust bolts, quickly remove stuck lug nuts, and loosen crank bolts with ease. TEKTON impact sockets efficiently transfer torque from impact wrench to fastener, loosening the most stubborn nuts and bolts. Made from high-strength chrome vanadium steel, our impact sockets are more resistant to drive end round out than standard impact sockets, resulting in a longer useable life. TEKTON impact sockets meet or exceed ANSI performance standards. The high-torque, 6-point socket grips the broad, flat sides of nuts and bolts, not just the corners, so there is no need to worry about stripping fastener head or damaging socket. An extra-deep broach enables you to access the entire length of fasteners. Even in low light, the high-contrast, permanent laser etched size markings are easy-to-read. Used on a flat tire repair while on vacation, was absolutely fantastic. Was very thankful I had because my lug wrench was missing, used cordless impact and sockets that fit tight without wanting to spin and didn’t cause any damage.

Although I haven’t used this extensively yet it seems to be well made and the sizes of the sockets are well marked. One thing that may matter to some people is that the hinges on the plastic case are also plastic, so if you plan on opening and closing it a lot then eventually those hinges will break from fatigue. I’m a DIY homeowner so that matters less to me. Otherwise, the cases are fine and seem thick and durable enough for normal use. I bought both metric and SAE size so my photos show both.One reason I bought them is to get the anode out of the water heater when that needs changing.

I originally purchased these sockets along with the metric set to use at work and didn’t want to spend a lot of money. The selling points for me was the high visibility markings along with the compact storage case. When comparing them to HF brand, you have to step up to the Pro version to get high-viz and no storage with one less socket. i haven’t had much time to field test, but they look and feel like a much higher quality than I expected for the price. Enough so that I ordered the matching shallow set in standard and metric two weeks later!

Great sockets, used them on my Milwaukee M18 high torque impact wrench and with over 1000 ft/lb of torque and many jobs later they’re still in perfect shape and are holding up as they should, the black finish on them is durable. Only complaint is they’re fairly thick walled so that’s limiting some.
