Mount the TEKTON 6-1/2 in. Woodworking Vise to the face of your bench and get a sure grip on your furniture, cabinetry and other woodworking and assembly projects. Add custom jaw pads made of hardwood, soft pine, plywood or other materials to prevent damage to fine surfaces. The vise is made from 30,000 PSI cast iron, so durability and dependability are built in. To maximize grip and prevent surface damage, the jaw travel is guided by twin steel rails to evenly distribute contact between the jaw and work piece. Installation options include positioning the vise flush with a bench top for quick and consistent alignment between work pieces. Turn the chrome-plated sliding T-bar handle and the jaw glides smoothly along the Acme-threaded main screw without binding or chattering, even as clamping pressure increases.

Excellent for smaller wood projects.Tools & hardwood required for full assembly & to attach wooden blocks to both jaws of vice. Underside of my bench had an inset 2×4 support, so this meant drilling (3) 3/4” holes so the screw & guide bars would fit beneath bench when closing vice.

This vise is perfect for my woodworking hobby. There are better vises with quick release, etc. that for me is not necessary. I made my own bull nosed inserts for protecting my lumber pieces and am more than happy with the results.

Not much to say. It’s a vise Of course you need to attach 2 small blocks on either inner side to provide protection to wood pieces. In order to attach blocks, and also allow yourself the ability to attach it to the work bench, it is necessary to first make desired blocks, then drill two holes the size of the screw heads thru the block at necessary location. Then attach the block to that side, then attach vise to bench using adequate hardware for strength. Then attach block on the other inner side. Then use adequate hardware to attach underside of vice to bench frame. This makes it very sturdy.

I looked at several different Vises and the Home Depot had the best one for the buck.

While doing some wood work I need a vise that wouldn’t crush my wood project. The machinist vise was out of the question. Saw this vise for wood and so far it has been just what I needed. Installing it to the workbench was easy enough, just had to make some wood pads for it. Hols the projects well but it’s not a heavy duty vise so don’t overload it. Other wise it’s a good deal.

This little vice works great for me. There are more expensive units with more features, but I just needed something simple to add to my portable work bench. They can be mounted a couple of different ways, I chose to mount under the work surface so it’s out of the way.
