With a maximum rated capacity of 8,000 lbs. (4,000 lbs. used as a single line) and a safe working load of 4,000 lbs. (2,000 lbs. used as a single line), the TEKTON 4 Ton Dual Gear Power Puller uses a ratcheting gear pulley system to move heavy loads with one handed operation. It is ideal for use in construction, landscaping, and farm projects. One anchor 5/16 in. safety latch hook and two 5/16 in. safety latch hooks allow for use as either a single line or double line. Safety latch hooks are self-closing for secure connections. Strong 1/4 in. aircraft-grade braided steel cable has a maximum pull length of 12 ft. 7 in. (7 ft. 3 in. used as a double line). Dual gears and locking pawls distribute pulling force evenly. All-steel construction with a corrosion-resistant galvanized finish is built to last. The high-leverage, 21 in. steel ratchet handle with cushioned nonslip grip is comfortable to operate. With secondary pawls released, pumping the handle offers safe and controlled, notch-at-a-time letdown of large loads.

used to pull my truck out of my stream bed. Called tow companies in the area and left messages, two never returned my call one said he was coming…for two weeks he said he was coming….then I bought this tool to do what the tow companies refused to. Yes it is everything promised and more.

I’ve owned the Tekton 4-Ton come-along for only a few weeks. It is very solid and capable, but there are a number of features that make it unnecessarily difficult to use. I had difficulty initially despooling cable because of the tight spring clip around the spool intended to keep the cable properly coiled and packed. After the puller was exercised a few times this problem was greatly reduced. The little lever, cam and spring to release the pawls and allow cable to be pulled out are cheaply made and work poorly together. They did not get better with use. Still this puller does work better than most of the single pawl models I have tried and I have no doubt that it meets its stated capacity. I wish the manufacturer had used the money spent on chrome plating to engineer a few better parts.

Heavy duty item and the option to use the long cable or hook to the pulley makes this a must have.
