These punches worked great to manufacture custom gaskets on a hydraulic test machine. I was able to match the bolt pattern and make clean holes in the flat gasket by punching from both sides.

I’ve used the 1/2 in punch twice,with a soft pine board backing. First hole was perfect,the next hole was ragged. Same material,just 2 inches away from the first. It’s hard steel and shouldn’t have dulled after one use. Resharpen,and so far so good.
