With 17 taps and 17 dies in a full range of coarse and fine sizes from 3 to 12 mm, the TEKTON Tap and Die Set (39-Piece) is the ideal all-purpose set for your garage or shop. These tapered plug taps and dies are the most commonly used style and are perfect for most hand threading applications. They are known for their ability to start easily, either cutting new material or chasing lightly damaged threads. With proper technique and the right lubricant, these taps and dies will cut mild carbon and alloy steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass and bronze.

Not as comprehensive of a tap set as I expected. Too many dies, not enough taps. Only a couple of sizes of taps, then different thread patterns within each size.Average, not great quality as one might expect for a cheap set.

Actually I would recommend this set if one is looking for a inexpensive metric tap and die set. The dimensions don’t seem overly accurate and the quality is average. But I also didn’t pay $80.00 or more either.

This kit solved my folding bike specialized screw that is M4 on one end and M6 on the other end. The tap and die pieces wouldn’t snap to the slots nicely and pieces may fall apart. This is the only complain that I have.
